ingerie maker Triumph International Japan Ltd. unveiled a solar- power- generator bra in Tokyo Wednesday. The eco-green bras are made with Eco-Tex, a high quality organic cotton that have met international textile safety standards. The bra generates electric power using a detachable solar panel, enabling the wearer to illuminate a compact electric indicator attached to the panel to display a message as well as to power i-pods, cell phones and other electric gadgets on the beach without worrying about dead batteries.
Plastic pads are used not only for their primary purpose of adjusting the size by changing the volume of water but as a drink dispenser to quench the wearer's thirst in summer heat. This is touted as an eco-friendly feature that would save on disposable plastic water bottles.
The solar power generator bra is the latest of Triumph's eco-friendly bra series to boost the public's awareness of ecological issues prior to the July 7-9 G8 Hokkaido Toyako summit in northern Japan which has been dubbed the "environment summit" as it will focus on global warming.
