ne of this year's more interesting entries at the Venice Film Festival is a gangster film set in Sâo Paolo, Brazil. Dangkou ("Plastic City") gives Hong Kong director Nelson Yu Lik-wai the chance to overseas a provocative blend of Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian actors in an underworld morality tale that begins in the city's Liberdade neighborhood and ends in a remote jungle hideout.

Eurasian actor Anthony Wong Chao-sang is the son who steps in to fill a gangland vaccuum left by his emotionally exhausted father. The film's two female knockouts are Chinese actor Huang Yi and Brazilian Taina Muller. It is scheduled for a 2009 release in Brazil.
