Or you may have a nostalgic yearning for the 50s? We'll tell you where you can go!
     Of 1267 U.S. counties, the top 10 in terms of absolute paucity of Asians are:
  1. Atchison County, Kansas, 105 Asians
  2. Hancock County, West Virginia, 111
  3. Cassia County, Idaho, 111
  4. Macon County, Alabama, 114
  5. Gratiot County, Michigan, 119
  6. Sheridan County, Wyoming, 124
  7. Delta County, Michigan, 127
  8. Ottawa County, Okalahoma, 128
  9. Staunton County, Virginia, 129
  10. Barton County, Kansas, 130.
     Keep in mind that these are based on 1997 U.S. Census figures. The rankings may have become thoroughly fouled up by an Asian or two who may have thoughtlessly moved, died or been born in the past two years.
     If you're more interested in the relative scarcity of Asians, here are the 10 counties where Asians make up the smallest percentages of the population:
  1. Jones County, Mississippi, 0.2% (131 Asians)
  2. Henry County, Virginia, 0.2% (133)
  3. Talladega County, Alabama, 0.2% (137)
  4. Walker County, Alabama, 0.2% (149)
  5. Apache County, Arizona, 0.2% (149)

     But why move all the way to places like Kansas, Alabama or Michigan just to get away from Asians when you can stay within a couple hours of a steaming bowl of pho or a sizzling broiler of bulgoghi in the top 5 Asian-less California counties?
