EE at UIUC rocks. it ranks #2 just behind mit. gotta admit tho, mit is still the best academic choice for engineering. however, uiuc is a univeristy, so you got it all, unlike mit, only an institute. come on, life is more than just academics.

McMASTER UNIVERSITY in Hamilton, ON is the BEST Canada has to offer. Most research-intensive Engineering school in the nation with the best social atmosphere for undergrads.

Yeah how come Stanford is not even a choice in the poll (not that I am a Stanford student)?

Anyway I think this poll is too subjective. Of course everyone is going to vote for his/her own school.

I am an ABC and I just spent a semester as an exchange student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). It was a wonderful experience.
Classes were great -- instruction is in english. HKUST, a 10 year old dynamic university, is now considered the MIT, with a well deserved international reputation.
The city of Hong Kong is a pleasure to explore and see, especially given my Cantonese roots. I was able to go on several excursions to neigboring countries. I truly recommend anyone interested in their Chinese root to investigate this wonderful exchange program.

Hey hey! I'm going to Northwestern University, and although it is great for liberal arts, their engineering program isn't half bad either! Actually, BioMedical and Chemical engineering here rocks! I love this school. The engineering classes are pretty hard but cool, and its for people like me who do not like being around techies all the time!! (although i am a techie) The campus is so beautiful too!

I dont know what the point of my post was, I just wanted to show some Northwestern pride =)

Hmm, I'll have to surrender to school pride and say, go Berkeley!

Harvard Graduate & Lauriel,
Have you heard of another old saying:
Lesser you know, more you get paid.

MIT or Harvard graduates don't like to hear they don't know jack sh*t, so we better listen up to them. In reality, the secret behind all is that they are all lying how much they're getting paid......=)

Haha ^_^ Just surfed into this website for the first time, and had to comment on my old stomping-grounds.
----
MIT = Minnesota Institute of Trucking, or so I first heard of it in hs
----
And the joke that 'Harvard graduate' mentioned is a little more detailed:

There's a student standing in the express line of a supermarket with the sign "10 items or less". The student, however, has 11. That means the student either has to be a Harvard student who can't count, of a MIT student who can't read.
----
I had a total love-hate relationship with MIT. Intense education, the name doesn't hurt, and you come out knowing something. Maybe not what you expected when you came in, but it's got to be worth something! (Maybe not $37K/year though)
----
Anyone who has suffered through some hellish engineering though (ME for me), congrats!
