Naki on Toddler's Response to Racial Taunts
know, as we all probably do, what you and your daughter are going through. The racists in the media ensure that this type of taunting of us will continue. The situation is made more difficult due to your daughter's young age. My advice would be to train her to yell, "racist!" at the top of her lungs when this racial taunting happens. Most humans do not want to be known as racists, even if they act like one. This may not have an immediate effect on the snot-nosed brat that is taunting her, but the little piece of shit probably has a parent nearby, who should get the message and may pull their kid aside and teach them something about respecting others that is overdue. It would be nice to think that they would do so because it is right, but more likely they would do it out of embarassment at their obvious lack of parental teaching. You are wise to seek advice in what is a life-long issue for all of us. There are no easy answers, unfortunately.
