1. I met her online through a mutual female friend. I was looking for information and portfolio on black and white photography, and the mutual friend put me in touch with her. We corresponded and after six months and hundred exclamation marks, pictures and smileys later, we met in person. And what a woman she was in her true colour! :)
2. Before I dated her, I do admit to feeling attracted to some white girls, but on looking back, I think my attraction belongs more in the infatuation and fantasy realm and not in experience. And since hindsight is 20/20, the funny thing is that some white girls did give me hints and signals, but because I was inexperienced, I didn't pick them up.
3. She was artistic, college educated with a major in socio-anthropology and I think a minor in Asian studies. She confessed to liking Asian cultures. I was a math and computer science major with a love of language, travel and a leaning toward the visual arts (I love Escher). The qualities I like the most about her? Her warmth, compassion, love of learning and sense of adventure. Although she loves people, she is shy at first and very independent. Like me, she has always felt like an outsider and sometimes lonely because she holds strong convictions on certain issues. Like me, she sees the world in different ways, a non-mainstream outlook on life. We both have a hidden rebellious streak inside of us which we don't want to share with the rest of the conformist world, but we would completely share it with each other. In each other, we find peace. She came from a broken home, I, from a broken country.
