WM's AF Girlfriend Shunned by Other AA
irst off, let me tell you that I am the stereotypical whiteboy. Moderately wealthy, moderately good looking, the same whiteboy you see every day. I just found out about this whole world of asian struggle in America, and it all started with a girl I met. She just happened to be asian, I didn't care, she was really cute. She was really hard to win over, but we finally went out together. Soon after, I found out she had been shunned by all of her asian friends for being with me, a gwai-lo. This brings me to my point: if the asian community wants to be a strong and long standing presence in American society, why in God's name is it not acceptable for an asian to go out with a white boy? What did you expect? Of course men like diversity. I'm seriously stumped. They called her some pretty mean stuff, including 'whitewashed' and traitor. Another thing, explain the 'whitewashed' thing to me. What the heck did you expect, living in America? Of course 'whiteness' is going to leak into you, this is a predominately white country. I would not emmigrate to Korea with a group of whites and call any caucasian that gets involved with Koreans 'yellow washed', after all, it is their country, the two races are bound to interact. The fact of the matter is, asians are here to stay in America, you are already a part of society, and I think that is good. I see the point in retaining cultural specialties, but I don't see why everyone looks down on being 'whitewashed'. Good day.
