How LalaLady Scammed Takashi

am what you people call a "F.O.P.", who came to Canada around 5-6 years ago. The place I settled, the X* coast, had many asians, e.g. HongKong, Taiwan, Chinese, etc...

I am a shanghai/mandarin girl from taiwan who spoke mainly mandarin and learned enough english to escape the E.S.L level! This story of meeting a wonderful Japanese boy happened around a year ago. I was in grade 9 at that time, and in that school, many people remarked I was the prettiest of all~ ^^ But finding a boyfriend was hard, since the guys in the grade were not nearly as tall as me with my shoes on, which increases my height 3 inches from 5'8 to 5'11, and they also were'nt that handsome!. The caucasian guys were just as bad, they were really short and quite frankly, we dont notice them and it is forbidden to even talk to them! It is very racist around the school. The caucasians and asians with identity crisis' disliked our style which consisted of mini skirts, tall boots, flashy material, super flared pants, big shoes, dyed hair, and other things straight from anime comics! Anyways, our school in the community had a program along with many other schools. It was to exchange Japanese students and vice versa. The day came with some students in our school gone, replaced by some Japanese people. It was not such a big deal, but we welcomed them with open arms. I was not expecting alot, just some nice people who hang around the classrooms examining Canadian school systems and touring the city. One day at my Japanese class, there were a couple Japanese students in the empty desks on the left side of the classroom. That is when I saw a very handsome Japanese boy who was very "ying jai" or cool looking , suavely sitting quietly, appearing not very talkative. He was quite tall, at around 6ft, and had a very nice tan. His hair was the best, styled so well, making me think about if Japanese schools let these kind of hairstyles in the classes~ ^^

Many people paid attention to the exchange students, particularily Takashi, the guy I mentioned above. Alot of the Honger girls surrounded him and asked ...lack of a better word... idiotic questions about nonsense! I was too shy to talk to him, just to listen to my friends chat in broken japanese, chinese, and english (funniest combination). Heehee hopefully I was a smart girl! Japanese man = help me in Japanese!~ Quite simple eh? So the teacher assigned a work sheet of Japanese questions , and I asked my friend if she knew how to do it in the most indearing way. I said it in Cantonese, although I suck at it, but I guess it sounded okay (just a little mandarin accent). I said "Dim jo yi dee gah?" and my friend who always was very funny and liked attention, asked Takashi loudly how to do the worksheet. I was holding it and I slowly put it on his desk (very frightening) and he took control and explained to me how to do it... but I already knew heehee! That was when I got his ICQ# which he accesses through the internet cafes etc in Canada, and I got to know him quite well! He is so funny and goofy at times, which is so cute cause he is so handsome! We did many things together such as going for bubble tea, going out for lunch, and other happy things! The two weeks had passed and it was time for him to go, but we email each other, ICQ each other frequently, and I will visit him in June 2002!~ Gd Gd~

READER COMMENTS

LalaLady,

Everything you use sounds like you live close to Vancouver area and are a recent immigrant.

But you use of Cantonese and the term "anime comics" seems weird.

From my experience hanging out with international students. Japanese guys love Chinese girls. If they wanted to date a Japanese girl they would have stayed in Japan.
