Beating Teen Bulimia

am also 23 and i went through the same thing as her when i was 17 to 21. Her story pretty much sounds like mine, the sore throat, cracked hand and everyday hoping that the next day i would not overeat or make myself puke.
I was always naturally thin, even right before my anorexia/bulimia...the problem was me was that I was 110 lbs during my highschool years and got down to 105 lbs by not dieting....just naturally came off when i was in grade 12. I thought i looked alot better since my cheeks looked more narrow, I became obsessed with that number...even a pound more i thought i looked bigger. So then food became an obsession and i started making food schedules and diaries for myself. Oneday my sister brought a McCains' cake home and when nobody was there i ate a piece, then went back for more, and more til eventually the cake was almost all gone...i felt so disgusting that i tried to puke in my parent 's bathroom...I told myself that i wouldn't ever do it again but i did...for a couple of years til finally i just learned to control my eating. My husband now who i met at 19 somewhat helped me through it cause i realized that i was wasting alot of money on food that i was only puking out...i felt guilty that i was doing that with OUR money.
Well, i am now eating very healthy, i don't weigh myself every hour like i use to...and i don't write any food schedule...if you think about food all the time it will provoke a eating disorder...just don't think about food as an enemy but something you need to survive...i have so much to write about this issue but there's no space. Goodluck to all out there.

I'm 14 years old. I have just started making myself throwing up 3 days ago. I got in a fight with my boyfriend and somehow felt that I NEEDED to throw up all my food. I feel that I am skinny except on my inner thighs which look not skinny. Everyone tells me I am skinny but I dont belive them. I try not to eat alot and if I do eat something other than fruit or soup I make myself throw up. I know this is not a good thing to have but it seems to be the only way to lose some weight. I am 5'5 and weigh 114 and I feel like that is too much. Please help me

One of my best friends are anorexic and bulimic. I told her to stop it but she won't listen to me. She also says she tries not to be. She weighs only around 95lbs and he's 13. I'm really worried about her. She's trying to loss weight so she can at least keep playing softball; you have to weigh a certain amount(about 105lbs.) (not putting her real name) but ashllii, if you read this, please please stop. I love you.

I never knew that Asian females had anorexia or bulimia, I think since the perception of AFs is that they are naturally thin, this would not be a problem. Do you all find that your family doesn't want to acknowledge the problem or get you the help that you need because they want to save face?

Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 18:26:42 (PDT) i'm a junior in college and i've been battling bulimia/anorexia for the past six years or so. i'm 5'8'' and have weighed anywhere from 115 lbs to 160lbs. some times after i throw up i've feel so bad that i'd get as much sleeping pills as possible and think "well tomorrow is a new day." so i know/understand what you guys are going through. so if anyone needs support, feel free to email me at mizvirginie@asianavenue.com.

I am 23 and have been bulimic for 10 years. There are times when 2 weeks might go by and I don't throw up..but a few months ago, I was throwing up between 5-7 times a day. Sometimes I eat one cookie, then go throw it up. It's a neverending cycle that really breaks you down emotionally, physically, and mentally. It really IS about loving oneself..but it is really hard to get "there". I tried therapy for a few months, which seemed to help, but when I stopped going, I relapsed and started purging again. I'm 5'6 and 135 lbs. People say I am in great shape and no one has ever complained about my body. But when I look in the mirror, I feel disgusted. If anyone KNOWS HOW to get out of this mess, please share...

I'm 29 years old. I was full-on bulimic for 10 years, from ages 16 to 26. At one point my weight dropped down to a dangerously low 88 pounds. (I'm 5'8".) I went through several psychologists, tried all sorts of drugs, and was forcibly put in a mental institution. It took me a long time to realize that the only thing that really made me improve was unconditional love, which I never got from my parents but found in my husband. I was bulimia free for 3 years but recently relapsed because I still haven't learned to love myself, but this time I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Well I currently have the Binge where I eat but unlike Bulimia i dont puke it out. I eat because im depressed I use to only eat when I was hungry now I only eat when im not full which is like half of the day. Medically the only way I can get out of this is to get through my depression but Prozac havent helped only got my parents pissed about their Medical bills........My doctors are planning to put me on some sort of dieting drug.....to suppliment my Prozac......I could only wish I could have anaxoria or Bulimia.....instead gaining weight like this.......oh well I dont see a light at the end of the tunnel.........being 14 sucks........
