As far as I know Taiwan has been a part of China since the Ming or Qing Dynasties. Japan only took it after China lost the first Sino-Japanese war in the late 1800s when Japan invaded, then it was returned back to China which was under Chiang Kai-Shek & the Nationalist (KMT). I know a lot of people from Taiwan, including my own spouse. The ones that are regarded as Taiwanese ( still Han Chinese by origin) are the Chinese that have been there for several generations or went over from the Mainland during the Ming Dynasty primarily from the Mei Nan area of Fujian Province (the Taiwanese dialect is from this province) or Hakka Chinese people from the Mainland. They don't refer to the Aborigines as Taiwanese but as Aborigines (whom my friend from Taiwan said are related to the Miao minority of China & also came from the Mainland a long time ago) & they are a very small percentage of the population now. If it weren't for the KMT (even though they weren't perfect) Taiwan probably wouldn't be as prosperous & advanced like it is now. I think China treats it's minorities fairly well now compared to other countries - the government feels that it's important for them to be represented in government & to preserve their culture. Look at China's currency, different minority groups appear on it in their ethnic costumes & even the writing from 4 groups ( of course including the majority Han Chinese) appear on the currency. The Shanghai Museum also represents the different ethnic groups of China & shows their costumes. I read the Tibetan per capita income is much closer to the the Han Chinese compared to the Native Americans & White Americans- plus the Tibetans were never forcibly moved off their land like the Native Americans. China had a relationship with Tibet for hundreds of years & ruled it on & off - it didn't just start in 1949. Every citizen of China is a Chinese, even though they don't all belong to the same ethnic group or majority Han Chinese group . Every citizen of the United States is American but we don't all belong to the same ethnic group- as a nationality we are all Americans.

The Han Chinese (mostly from the Mandarin speaking provinces) that came around 1949 with Ching Kai-Shek & the KMT, when the Mainland became communists, are not referred to as Taiwanese but as Wai Sun Ren, however, they are all still Han Chinese by origin.

Just to add to the fact /history pool:

Even in places like the Philipines and Indonesia, where the Malays now reside, there are pigmie (or black) Natives that live in remote places. These people have more resemblence to Africans than anything else. Scientists have concluded that they are even more ancient inhabitants than the Malays, who are an Mongoloid race people, and in fact, the Malays have simply displaced the Pigmies possibly forcibly. Moreover, science has shown that the chain of Malay and Polynesian people spanning from Malaysia all the way to the Easter Islands are all related and had ultimately came from Southern China. This is not to say that they are related to ethnic Chinese, but that they were a distinct ethnic group that have migrated far into the pacific.

I am not saying that it's right to dominate another group, and that the "better" group will dominate all at the end : these are remarks that 19th century racist Imperialists' favorite argument and justification for what they did all over the world. But I am trying to provide some facts to illustrate that this sort of thing happens all over time and place - and that deep down inside no one group of human beings is better than others. Now, it makes a difference to be compassionate and even sorry for the minority groups - and that's what separates ultimately the good guys from the bad.

"Just ask Lee Teng-hui. A real Taiwanese. He says Taiwan is not Chinese but
Taiwanese!"

Lee Dung Hui is a fool. This guy is in favour that Taiwan should be under Japan's rule. He had made speeches for the right-wing extremists in japan and got a nice reponse from them. Pay no attention to this man. It's just sad that this bastard have not died yet. so he can join Emperor Hirohito hand in hand while rotting in hell.

Fact about Taiwan is that it was it's own island with mostly Malay inhabitants for thousands of years. About 400 to 500 years ago and later, Dutch, Spain, China, and Japan all had claimed to it. China being the longest.
Most of the Taiwanese people are racially mixed between the Malay and Chinese, again mostly Chinese blood and look Chinese. The main question is that in future is US or China has more muscle to determine Taiwan's future. It' sad but it's not up to the Taiwanese people to decide their own future.

Back to the topic, if Taiwan were under Spain, it will be like Macau or Philipine depend the enthnic population of Taiwan with immigration and all that?

28 was always a good age to get married, but it also depends on the situation
if you really love the person and your like 21 at the moment then its not really good to wait till your 28 to pop the question you know?
so it all depends
but yeah i would have to say 28 at most
