What don't Asians' like about black people...It's like you guys don't think we have yet to mentally develope beyond the point of a three-legged bob-tailed mouse, hobbling back to the trap for its fifth bit of cheese...

Can you guess how it was that I stumbled upon this site? My da was trying his hardest to convince me that Asians worship white folks and despise Black people, and I was like ''naw, nobodies racist like that anymore'' but now I'm not so sure...and it kind've hurts...
The thing is that the hatred is just so stupid...so ignorant...and so blatantly obvious...one of my favorite cartoons, dragonballz
s'got a whole bucket o'white folks...crazy,suicidal,death,defying white folks at that....
well anyway, when these white guys are fighting in their regular form you could arguably say they look asian....and whoop there it is, they need more power...
rocks start floating
they start glowing
and suddenly
their hair is blonde, their eyes blue...er..why?
Now I've been doing a lot of searching and I finally believe I may've found the one and only black person in the whole show...
Mr. Popo...a walking racial slur...back in the day, black people we're portrayed just as mr. Popo looks...like stupid incoherently bumbling doofs...(I wont' get into that whole story it's long and stupid...)
I just don't get it, we aren't dumb, we aren't ignorant, and we aren't fools...so why hate, why talk about, and why mention what you don't even really seem to know about...?
iAy! que es ese cosa en su cuello, ioh! es sola su cabeza, gee whiz, you should really get that checked out, growths like that just can't be natural...J/K... oh see I'm american, british, black, cultured, and know spanish...what's not to love...? huh.gif

hmmm, where i live i don't notice any distrust or disliking of blacks from asians, as for anime always having a lot of white people, i'm not quite sure. I think it's mainly because the cartoon is marketed to countries with a white majority or the cartoonist has a fascination with the look of white people.
Ultima_Nemesis
Well about anime there's a show called cowboy bebop and that has a lot of blacks. One of the characters is named Edward and she looks black. She's one of the main characters. And I know this ain't a big deal but it's cool to see a woman who likes DBZ laugh.gif
kagura
I like cowboy bebop, but the fact remains that edward's got pink hair...(enough said) and I'm guessing you've never seen her da...I don't think she's really got a race...in a lot've cartoons they make brown-colored charecters so that the non white minorities've got somethin' to relate to...(hmmm did that make sense....) huh.gif
OH yeah, there's another black character in the dragonball series besides Mr. Popo...she looks crazy...we anually watch that epidsode just so we can't laugh...i think little goku is trying to beat crillin(is that how you spell it?) and he goes to her door and ask for a pen...she looks gross...big lips, really dark skin...I mean i just don't get it...chances are i'm lighter than most of the white people that you know yet everyone in anime's are always charcole... wink.gif
anyway...to get to this site we(mi padre y yo) googled phrases like...'asians hating blacks' and stuff like that...and up came in your archive files a whole conversation where occasional remarks were thrown in about how it wasn't only because of the blacks that they didn't want to move to america and stuff like that... mad.gif
me likey smileys can you tell...

Anime: I rarely see anime with Blacks, mostly Asian and White. I have been watching this show called Inuyasha (I hate it but have nothing against people who like it so don't assume) and not once have I even seen a dark skinned character. Another is called Yu Yu Hakusho and one of the guys Toguro fights is a HUGE Black man but he kinda sucks. So either its...

1. Racism
2. They just happen to put characters who are stupid and black

And Dragonball's non-main characters are always stupid whatever race they are.

Life: Okay Kagura, here's the thing. I find Black women very attractive. Just like Asian, Latins and Whites, I can also find them non-attractive as well (like most normal people). So if I find Blacks very beautiful, then I am sure Asians will too. One thing I personally find Blacks have over any other race are legs. Now I'm not usually the one to compare parts of the body but they have nicer legs than any race IMO. They also look the best when they're athletes. Black Female Athletes look good.

Plus, do you know Tiger Woods? Or The Rock? Both are half black, half Asian and look how famous they are. And not just famous, but legendary.

Oh and this is sort of about anime. But right now I am creating a story and I plan to create it as a mix between American and Japanese action. I have a character who's name is Linnia Isaac King and she's Black. I want to try and make the first major Female African-American hero. And if there already is, please tell me (Storm don't count so don't think about it). Anyway her name later changes to Linnia King Long because she marries a Chinese American. I love having interracial relationships and I really like seeing Blacks and Asians together. I've never actually seen one, but I like reading about them. The only time I even seen one was on a show called "Real World" I happened to see on MTV. Anyway I hope that's good enough for you.

I know this ain't about anime but do you like or love Dbz? Just curious cause it seems to me I am the only person I know who actually still loves it.
kagura
hu-hu-hu-aaarghhhh...y-you hate inu-inuyasha...noooooo
oh the pain, the disgrace, the burning in my left lung...and i didn't know tuguro fought a black guy that must've happened in the gap where i stopped watching the show and started again... huh.gif
anyway, I'm looking for the file I saw last time so you can see what i mean about the way some of the asians we're talking about blacks...
I mean i know all asians every where don't hate blacks which is why i started this thread, i just want to know where the general-oh i don't know-disenchantment...i read about started from...?
oh and i love dragon ball z... tongue.gif

I just can't stand Kagome. She's a perfect character and I hate perfect characters. The show starts off and she's already super brave, super smart and everything. I call her and many other anime women, "Super Powered Schoolgirls." It's become quite famous in my household.

I know an Asian who likes blacks, he's from China too. Bruce Lee. He taught Kareem Abdul Jabaar and he's black. He was influenced by Muhammad Ali, he's black. His first student was black.

Speakin of which, Muhammad Ali once gave a couple kisses to this little Vietnamese girl. Yes it might not prove anything between relationships between blacks and asians but she was laughing about it. These white boys were chasing her and trying to beat her up since she was Vietnamese (you know, the war between US and Vietnam). But Ali said "We ain't got no quarrel with them Vietcong." So, that means a Black likes Asians. So there might be an Asian who thinks "We ain't got no quarrel with them Africans (or blacks, whatever)."

Sorry, I got ahead of myself. I'm a huge Ali fan and I love talking about him. Point is, I'm pretty sure you know this, but if some Blacks can defend Asians, I'm pretty sure some Asians will defend blacks. I read this Interracial book about a chinese girl and her black husband. She was working and this woman was saying crap about blacks and the Chinese girl got real mad. But she corrected her before the racist woman would make a fool out of herself.

Most Asians (as opposed to Asian-Americans) have never met a black person, and everything they know, or think they know, about black people is filtered through books, movies or magazines from the West. Guess who controls all the images of black people that come from the West? Feed people a steady diet of racist stereotypes for a few generations, and in the absence of first-hand information, they'll believe them.
LIonman of Kaos2
I have also notice in this site alot of stereotypes are thrown around about black people being black I wonder how many of these guys know any black people and I don't mean that one or two that live in the neighborhood that grow up along side white people most of or all there life. Nothing wrong with that but l but let's face it when the stereotypes come out where talking mostly about "urban youth".
I doubt that many of you hang out with that type so you don't really understand the behavior I'm not saying it's right or wrong just saying you don't understand it. A few you might have or do know some and if they do they know they range in different personae so to clump us all into gunner and rappers. Is sad the saddest part is that i read this in a forum on here about what to do if you overhear racial slurs it quickly became a conversation about black sterotypes. So easy we fall in the same trap that we try to denouce.
LIonman of Kaos2
I don't know if mister poo poh is suppose to be a black person but my friends have said that as well angry or speculating. I have seen some black people on DBZ in crowds and they look like Poo poh just brown and i have to agree they make the other character look decent and the black one's look like old white stereotypes with black face. In fact Goku faught a guy in the Dragon ball series i believe first season a huge obvious black guy drawn in the same manner. I was watching it with a black friend and he brought it up. I just look at it and said that sad. At least the guy gave Goku a good fight.

I think ones views towards a group of people can
be attributed to the way he's raised. Do you agree?
I have had my shares of Black friends. But the trend
that I see is that they've referred to Whites negatively.
Not all the time, but in small conversations.

But then again, they talk about themselves negatively
at times.
"Im a pimp," he'd say, like he's encouraging everyone
to believe that every black man is a pimp.
I now he's not a pimp but he encourages that stereotype.
The other thing is that they are more open talking
about their love life than they are Whites..

But when I talk to my white friends, they tend not to even
cross that line. Most of the talks we have are Casual
and formal, nothing about Blacks.

I was just wondering if you've noticed the same behavior.

Anyway, about Anime being racist. I really am speechless.
I don't know what to say, but I do enjoy you guys wrote.

I think it's the ghetto blacks who gives black folks a bad overall impression. These people are liars, criminals, uneducated etc... But the middle class harding working blacks are just like another race.
Jantan Indo Macan Cina
coming from experience, many blacks are simply gracious. my church associate pastor is an african american and he is one of the most respected person ive known. many blacks, despite negative experience with asians, yet remains respectful and positive in attitude towards asians. this is, in my opinion, a great deed.
Sody
Yes I am Asian and I certainly don't hate Black people. I think that must be the case in the US where there is so much racial tension. I've heard some Asians on this site talk crap about Black people and I can't help but wonder how screwed up some of them are. There are so many nice Black people, but the media always screws Black people and never gives them an ounce of respect.

Ultima_Nemesis
Even though I'm Hispanic and this is a topic between Asians and Blacks , I admire the traits of most blacks. And I quite agree with you lordt78. It's mostly these rappers talking about "growing up in the streets and the ghetto" that might get to most blacks heads. Things about the "White Man" keeping them down.

I don't remember exactly but I think Bill Cosby (was it him?) got mad at these blacks who have such oppurtunities to live a good life and complain about the white devils are stopping them. But sometimes I understand what led to this. Slaves and white masters is not easy on the African-Americans, or at least not all.

Muhammad Ali just punished and humiliated two boxers by calling him his slave name. But yet he respected the Whites and Asians so that's what I liked about him. His religion at the time just talked nothing but White Devils and Slave Masters.

The point is hopefully smart Blacks (or possibly a non-black) won't listen to this stuff. Might sound a little cliche but they should really follow the sound of their heart.

And I got a question. When you mean the media, are you talking about movies, television or the news? I never really hear any direct racism I mean unless I'm not paying attention.
pearlcityguy
Asian people who are aware I think have a quiet respect for blacks. Some side with blacks just because they don't like white people. Those who aren't aware like FOBs could care less.
Clouded_Yoda
Dragon Ballz is one of my favourite. I must say that I didn't notice Mr. Poh Poh's lips. I just see him as another intersting character in the anime. So i can honestly tell you that this is a good thing because kids who watch these anime will be more accepting of different ppl of different colours. Surely they will not be as racist as us.

Since there are anime fans here, check out Naruto if you have broadband. You can download the series from Naruto. It's 10 times better than Dragon Balls.
kagura
Lookie, it's me...the wonderful...aki..kagura whatever...anyway.
I've not been around for a hot minute because I wanted to find proof of my argument...I mentioned earlier that I'd read negative things about blacks in this sites' archive files... I can't find them again though so I guess it sucks to be me right?
(coughs hysterically) on to buisness please--please--please don't go there lordt78.

I don't know why but your comments erked me...hmmm it's probably because a lot of people consider my family to be ghetto but this term isn't applied to us or a lot of other folks because we're any of the things that you said (liars, criminals, uneducated).

It's applied to us because we live in poor neighborhoods--or because our neighbors often come down the street to borrow our microwave--or because our shoes will be better kempt than our front yards--or because the only thing well have eaten for weeks in a row will be chicken and ramen noodles...etc...etc...etc...(not all of this personally refers to me because I don't stay in a poor neighborhood, i stay in the projects and I only stay there when I'm not in britain or ireland or something).

And it's not that these people aren't hard working, it's that maybe they'll have six too many kids or they haven't got their priorities quite straight (who buys air force ones before they buy dinner?) and they were taught a certain way to live by their parents because that's how their parents-parents were taught to survive...and I do agree with you lordt78, that it's the ghetto blacks that give all of us a bad reputation...
I just don't agree with the reasons you listed...and I know it sounds so stupid, but I just wish that you could walk down my street, just once, because you'd honestly realise why it is that so many of us act the way we do...

Oh and for the record, we only live in the projects because we move to different continents so much that its hard to keep track of the money...(smiles stupidly) yes! I think I'm going back to Britain next week for a quick visit to my friends...mwhahahahah...they all had to take these big exams called GCSE's but I didn't and I'm so happy...! laugh.gif

Oh yeahhh, and some one above mentioned they never hear their white friends talking about blacks...Pur-lease biggrin.gif. they just can't be open about it...it looks bad when they are...I go to a school with a lot of white folks and they are quite racist at times...not all of them...not even most of them. but enough of them that you hear about it....and i love white people, but sometimes you just got to sit there a wonder whats going through their heads...
Ultima_Nemesis
I'm always hearing about racial marks against students in school but when I was in school I never heard anything. I'm not saying it's not true but I never hear those arguments. But the last grade I was in was 5th and I don't know if students make racist marks at that age, I don't know. I haven't been to school in 4 and a half years and lost track of all minds.

But me I'm always interested in race for some reason. I like any race as they are human beings like me. Yet I'm always wondering "What does a black person think about about?", or "Is that Asian girl thinking low of me?" or whatever things like that. So I'm not racist or judge people by their race but I'm usually curious on what the opposite race thinks for some reason.

Plus I would have to say racist kids and/or teenagers is not really their own fault. Somehow, someway they learned it or was taught from somebody. I just can't tolerate racism (not direct racism. I never got accused of anything), sexism or even intra-racism. Martin Luther King jr., Malcom X, Muhammad Ali and I guess you could even say Bruce Lee kind of; all of them tried hard to connect race to race and all these ignorant racist morons want to screw it up. But the thing is..I know. There may be racists but in the shadow lies a good man who respects and loves all races. Like me cool.gif . But I'm pretty sure you all know that. Or at least I hope you all know that.
JamesLee
I have many black homies. I'm from Taiwan but i ain't a FOB, ya know what i'm sayin? However, I think there ain't so many Asians hate black people. Guess y'all talkin about FOBs . I know there are some FOBs do hate blacks people. Some of them hate hispanic as well like my cousin who read in Emory University. Those Asians study too hard and they don't like people who don't study hard like them. Those poor [expletive] are limited by their sick parents and they compared whose parents are sicker. those stupid ass are naive and weird. They make part of the stereotype [expletive].
nicksinif
i think blacks are cool and that asians and blacks have alot in common. ive had a lot of black friends and think that a lot of blacks and asians hang out because we are pretty much in the same boat.
Shizukesa
I think its like that with any persons of any ethinic group that hear and read about other ethnic groups, but do not have the opportunity to meet them first hand.

I dont have anything against Asian people. Though I did confront my Chinese friend about rascism towards darker skin people and he said it was true, but not ALL Chinese think that way.

Its the same with Samoans and other cultures too.
