you know....it's very irritating to me when i think of all the times i've been asked if i was a u.s. citizen at a job interview or been asked questions that implied that the jackass interviewing me assumed i was a foreigner...and these are for private sector jobs where there is no government involvement...AND THE THING IS, I AM A U.S. NATURALIZED CITIZEN.and been for a very long time...I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PROVE THAT I AM AN AMERICAN TO ANYBODY...in most cases, these kinds of questions are illegal, but i guess these racist fuchs think they can get away w/ it since some little "FOB" is gonna be too afraid to tell the EEOC or some other group...

i'm not really sure why these racist fuchs think this...i speak the kind of unaccented english that only someone who grew up and studied in teh states could have...i've been mistaken for being white more than once when speaking to somebody on the telephone, but not revealing my asian last name, etc...maybe it's y.t.'s way to keep me down or make me feel low, or whatever..

just another thing among the many that irritates me about living in a country that refuses to acknowledge my presence in it and that refuses to see me as an individual human being....and is convinced that someone w/ yellow skin and a chinese-sounding (but actually not chinese) last name MUST be a potential "enemy".....

Ever get a jury duty notice? Or fill out a college App? Maybe they have to ask because its for the company health insurance policy thats publically funded. Or their pension plan has different procedures for non-citizens.

Well cartman, I guess it would depend on the manner in which the question was asked. If asked as a part of a matter-of-fact, "I'm just going through this list of required questions I have to ask all applicants" series, then it shouldn't irritate you. However, if it was asked with the customary ignorance most American whites/blacks show about Asian-Americans, then I could see how it could be rather annoying.
