Hey everyone,

I'm working on another assignment about the green card/work visa process.

If you're like me, you were born in another country and had to do A LOT to prove your worthiness to work/become a resident/become a citizen of the USA.

My question to is: Have you ever met/been duped by those Asian immigration consultants who help you fill out the necessary paperwork?

I know when I was going through the process, my mom took me to a Vietnamese hole-in-the-wall place which specialized in helping Vietnamese language speaking immigrants (I didn't understand what I was signing because I unfortunately only speak/read English).

If you've gone through similar experiences with those immigration consultants or know someone who has, drop me a line.

When I married my husband (who's from Vn), people in our community all recommended a bevy of different "consultants" to help fill out and file the forms. All I can say is, thank god I got an English-speaking lawyer and did it that way -- I have friends who did not and had to leave the country because their forms were filed late/incorrectly.

It's too delicate a process to let a nonprofessional handle it...
