I saw "The Book of Daniel" the other night. Sad to say, the writing is not so terrific--so I have a feeling that this show will not last long. But one of the co-stars is a total hunk, and he's depicted as being a successful ladies' man (as contrasted with the sad old stereotype of the Horny Asian Boy Who Is Universally Ignored By Women), which is a refreshing change of pace.
Naturally, I had to look this fellow up on the Internet, as I hadn't seen him before (believe me, I would have NOTICED!). I'm not into the soaps, but that's where he's appeared previously, at least in the USA.
When "The Book of Daniel" gets cancelled, I'm hoping that Ivan Shaw gets a starring role in his own show (or at least a substantial role in a good ensemble show).

I knew Ivan Shaw. I'm some 9 years older than him, but remembered him as a 13 year old kid in my church's youth group at that time. He also grew up just a couple of blocks from where I grew up.
Anyhow, I watched "The Book of Daniel"- this is just my opinion- I don't think he was cast in such a positive role. A horny, adopted Asian-American kid??? He just seemed like they had to write him into this show. How else would you explain having an Asian kid in a white family or having an Asian kid who speaks good English among white people. He "had" to be adopted to explain that. I don't think that's flattering. Plus, he is 26 years old in real life- why do they have to make in such a kid role? I hope better things will come along.
I'm wondering how the movie "Annapolis" by Justin Lin will be. The character "Loo" is played by Roger Fan. I also grew up with him.
