Patsy Mink
s the first non-white woman to serve in Congress, Japanese American Mink became a passionate and tireless advocate on behalf of women and disadvantaged minorites. She led the push for passage of Title IX in 1972 to ensure that girls have the same athletic opportunities as boys.
