I can tell from your posts that you honestly don't think you are racist. Perhaps this is true or perhaps you are in a bit of denial. Shannon is 1/2 korean and 1/2 irish. She is indeed asian. She may not be 100% asian but she is asian. If someone was 1/2 italian and 1/2 spanish, that person is italian and that person is spanish. One nationality does not negate the other one.

Since you have found out that you may be part cherokee, how would you feel if someone told you to get off this forum and only post on white & cherokee forums because you would be more comfortable there?

I have always admired people who challenge their ways of thinking. That's why I find "Contemplative" to be honest and thought-provoking (regardless if he was a bit drunk). He took the time to question why he has the beliefs he has to get a better understanding of himself. Not many people like to look at themselves and question their behavoir. It was especially brave for him to share it with us on this forum.

I have a korean father and a mother that is 1/2korean 1/2caucasian. You probably think I shouldn't post any messages here too.

If Shannon Jung is part-Asian, she qualifies as Asian American, as well as Caucasian-American. She has to deal with crap from both sides, but identifies with both sides as well. You really are ignorant of people of mixed ethnicity.

I find asian women very attractive and appreciate their different culture. I have dated philipino women and chines women. They have all been wonderful experiences and have made long term frienships.

It's pretty sad to see people attacking others who are of different races, saying that they don't belong to this forum because of that. I am a AF, and all my serious relationships happen to be with WM's. Interracial dating is getting a lot better these days thanks to diversity and the society as a whole becoming more open minded. Still from time to time, I can feel the stares and murmurs behind my back, as if me and my boyfriend were dating the wrong race. If most of you would like to find happiness in this world with a partner of a different race, shouldn't you be tolerant and accepting to other races in hope for reciprocity?

Hello Everyone. I need your advisce..not criticism ..just simple advises. I'm an Asian female with a great guy who happens to be Caucasian. He is great but...he doesnt care about culture or tradition. He cant even eat Asian food especially my country's food. Authentic asian food to him are those fast food places like "Panda Express" and "Kyoto Bowls" found at malls. How can I get him to be open to my culture without being pushy or making him feel like I want to change him. Maybe I am but I cant give up my love of culture, food, and people. Love stinks.

I don't understand why people think I am being racist. None of you even know me to say something like that. I know lots of Asian people and we get along well at work. I date Asian women frequently. I even learned to speak cantonese really well when I was in the military. I am a very open minded guy.
I did some research and found out that I might have some cherokee blood on my great great great grandfathers side of the family. So if I am part cherokee then how in the hell am I a racist?

I know a middle-aged white co-worker who loves to date black women but calls his black co-workers "lazy niggers". Just because he has romantic relationships with black, it does not make him any less of a bigot. Similarly, my college roomate freshman year chased after female japanese exhcange students but called Chinese American dorm mates "Chinks" when he was around his Jewish friends. For a guy who claims to be open-minded, you don't show it. I suppose Chinese people should only eat in chinese restaurants because we would "feel more comfortable" amongst our own. Since Shannon posted on this forum, I believe that she is comfortable here. Some people feel equally comfortable around asian people and white people. Why do we have to pick and choose? That last thing we need is segregation.
