WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
I am a Hispanic men who loves Asian women, but i love women in general. One thing i have noticed a lot is the fact that most Asian women do not find Hispanic men attracted and they always put us on the bottom. I dont know what makes them beleive that all Hispanic men are lazy and uneducated as they seem to beleive. If they do not give us the change to prove that we Hispanic men are also well educated and that we have lots of cultural values, how can then we even be thinking about dating them.
I hope that one day they can realize how afffectionate and caring we really are and that we value them and respect them as women.

>Where is your stats supporting most
>Americans prefer "tanned" skin?
Anyone can lie through stats, so that wouldn't prove anything one way or the other.
>Just because whites and East asians
>lay out in the sun during nice
>summer days doesn't mean they
>prefer tanned skin permantly.
I don't recall anyone saying that it was "permanently". All I saw was that some girl wrote:
'While the tanned look is desired by many in Western countries, paler skin is generally admired in Asia.
I thought that it was amusing that many guys said that they didn't like girls with "dark legs" because they looked "dirty". Funny, in the US, that would be laughed at since tanned legs are preferred.'
I thought this meant that in the US a lot of people find tanned skin desirable-- why do you think that's so unlikely? And how do you explain the "Tall, Dark, and Handsome" BS? Just curious.
Out here on the East Coast a lot of people go out of their way to mantain a tan, even during Winter months-- and that's kind of expensive.
Anyway, I don't see why that girl's statement rattled your cage so much. Relax. Go to the beach. Get a tan. :-p

Hi Flamenco Vixen,
Here I go with my generalizations again. I live in Canada and was surprised to see many Americans wearing a very rough tan. We can get tanned in Canada during the summer, but most people tend not to for health reasons. I noticed this trend mostly in people of European background...oh well. Until next time

Hello Everyone,
The concept of color is very intersting. In my dealings with Asian women I have noticed that many Japanese women do not discrimate towards dark skin like many Chinese women do. Of course, I'm not trying to generalize cultures and women in two senteces, but given my experiences do others out there find the same finding? If this is the case can someone tell me why? Please do not write if you think I'm generalizing too much for I already explained this commentary reflects MY experiences

I usually respond on the AW/BM site however I am hispanic. The situation with color is tricky. I would be consider taino medio by spanish standards (Jlo complexion)or to Asians a Thailand complexion. With green eyes. So I understand the likes and dislikes of people with regards to color. Reading Carlos H. comments about the "razas" I often wondered what Asian women thought of the color issue.

To Just wondering:
I agree with Veronica. I'm Chinese, and I don't care whether I look white or not. Actually, I'm proud of myself and the way I look. And how other people see me, I don't really care. And it's true that not all Chinese people look pale. Depends on which region you (or your ancestors) are from. Southern chinese people are tanned and usually have larger eyes. People from western China have persian blood, therefore they have arab features. Chinese people from the northernmost part of china look white (eg, blond/brown hair, slightly slanted blue eyes). Don't generalize the looks of all chinese people. There are, if I remember correctly, 40-50 different races of chinese people living in china, such as han, uyghur, manchu, etc.
And one more thing...I always thought Filipinos are asian. Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Indian, Malaysian, Bangladeshi--they are all asian. So, you are asian too, ms. just wondering. So, I don't know want you are criticizing about. You sound like you're ashamed to be asian and therefore, ashamed to be filipino. You give me the impression that because you claim to have latin features, you therefore think you're latin. You seemed to have forgotten your arab/chinese/filipino native indian roots. (Most Filipino people have a combination of spanish/arab/chinese/filipino native indian blood.) So, ms. just wondering, it sounds like you're a white/latin wannabe. You remind me of a southern film I saw about a black girl who looks white and thinks she's white.
Please don't get me wrong. I'm not a racist. I just find what ms just wondering has said to be sickening (except for the lucy liu part) that's why I had to say something. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; what one finds ugly, another finds attractive. There are beautiful people everywhere in the world.
