WHAT YOU SAY

Actually,
I find the Arabs and East Asians share more values and emphasis on success than Latinos. Many Arabs and Indo-Pakistanis in Cali., do not like to be mistaken as Latino either.
And, why do Latinos ignore their Pueblo, Navajo, Maya, indigena origins? By default, you guys also have some East Asian ancestry via these people who were mercilessly obliterated.

Overseas Latino,
Gee, get a grip on yourself, Stop getting hysterical over alleged "racist" incidents involving Arabs. If Australia is so bad, why don't you go back to Mexico or wherever you came from? I'm not sure if we're living in th same Australia but my Australia widespread violence against a minority is very rare, perhaps there are one or two cases of racist attacks by youth on ONE mosque.
Australia is NOt the middle east, if you don't like it here then get out. You're not the only minority group that is used as a scrapgoat, being asian, despite the media beat up involving PAuline Hanson..etc.,.etc, I arely experience racism first hand.

To Omar,
"I've noticed that Arab culture and latino culture r just about the same."
About people mistaking Arabs and latinos, I accept that, because I’ve seen it first hand, and i know it happens way too often.
But Arab culture and latino culture are so, so, so different. About people mistaking Arabs and latinos, I accept that, because I’ve seen it first hand, and I know it does happen. But one thing that I don't agree with is what you say about our cultures. Arab culture and latino culture are very, very different. We may have things in common, but what we do share is little. You also say "alot of latinos don’t know this but in fact can find Arab ancestry if they study their heritage". We all know we have at least one drop of Arab blood. No latino can deny that. Any latino that tries to deny that is deluding himself. The Arabs invaded and ruled Spain for over a century and then the Spanish invaded and ruled over Latin America. Every latino who claims Spanish heritage, must by default be willing to accept and claim arab blood too. But I don’t think that it would be easy to trace, because the mix happened so long ago.
Another thing is that no latino can deny the possibility of having a drop of Jewish blood. The Jewish presence in Spain was so big, just as big as the Arab presence, that today almost every Spaniard and latino, and especially almost every Portuguese person can't leave out the possibility of Jewish ancestry.
To Latino Man,
"Some examples of Middle Eastern celebrities are Shakira and Salma Hayek."
These latinas that you mentioned as an example to prove that other latinos have Arab blood doesn't really stand its ground. Their “well known” middle eastern descent is only recent. Shakira’s mother is Colombian and her father is Lebanese. Salma Hayek’s mother is Mexican and her father is Lebanese. If their fathers hadn’t been Lebanese, they still would have had at least one drop of Arab blood because their mothers are latinas. And since their mothers are latinas they are descended from Spanish blood, and Spanish blood is bound to have some Arab blood in it, be it due to recent of centuries-old mixing.

To Carlos H.
What you said about latinos being racially targeted for hate crimes in Germany is unfortunately very true. Arabs (most of whom are Turkish or Lebanese) are hated thought Germany by skinheads, and these have no problems about letting everyone know they hate them, everyone is aware of it.
Latinos in Germany have too often been mistaken for Arabs and have been beaten to a pulp. The same can be said for latinos in Australia.
Arabs are generally not very welcomed and many mosques and Arab Christian churches have been burnt or tried to be burnt down in Sydney and other cities. Lately there have been two cases of latinos being racially targeted and beaten in Australia because they were mistaken for Arabs. Many latinos are now complaining to the authorities that they are being racially discriminated against by Anglo-Australians as well as Australians of other ethnicity including Asians. Other complaints have been about verbal abuse on the street by strangers and threats of physical violence against them because they were mistaken for Arabs.
The hate against Arabs is so wide spread by all ethnicities in Australia that there was a special report on national television addressing the problem. On top of having the point of views of the Arabs and showing the Arab-Australian leaders pleading to the Australian public for understanding (because of the recent terrorist attacks and because of the high number of Arabs in Australia resentment is growing against them) the program also included footage of latinos protesting against racism in Australia. The latinos publicly criticised Australians for mistaking them for Arabs. Two people interviewed said Arabs should all be killed everywhere in the world, in the Middle East and overseas. And when asked what about the latinos and other non-Arabs who were being targetted and mistaken for Arabs, they just insisted they too should go, even though they acknowledged that latinos were not at fault.

I think that Latin guys are adorable! Most of them have personalities too. I am friends with some Latin girls, and they are real nice and sweet. So sure, if the love is there, then why not? =)

What's all this bullshit about Spaniards having Arab blood? How far in history do you want to go back? Shit, probably majority of Eastern Europeans have Asian blood but I don't consider them Asian.
Besides we are talking about latinos or Hispanics of the AMERICAS! Whom are few pure Europeans let alone pure Spaniards.
So squash this Arab/Spanish pretentious bullshit. What you fools think Spaniards only have Arab blood, what about the Visgoths, Celtics, Romans,Viking, etc.
