WHAT YOU SAY

I can understand your feeling on how happy you become when you are surrounded by the race you have an appreciation for. SOmetimes when I am invited by my Asian friends to go out somewhere, I find myself the only Latino--sometimes even the only male-- in their presence and I become very excited to be around them because I feel very accepted and happy that they find me a good friend to be with. My day is even the more memorable when I dance with one of them or make the whole group smile--I cannot find that same feeling or that same level of feelings for a girl of another race.
Accents can also be interesting. I don't have a problem if a girl has trouble speaking English; I even try to speak to her in her language to make it easier for her --which I am always encouraged to do so and enjoy-- but I am also willing to help her with English or with anything else if necessary.
SOme people may say that accents are funny and annoying --as you have mentioned about other people's opinions--but I find them pleasing to the ear and not so much of a limiting factor (at least for me.)
As for my preferences in a girl... I tend to like the taller and "more-fuller" type of Asian girls. I am not the type that goes after the slim and petite types. The petite ones "may" be cute and all but I find the taller ones to be more beautiful. I guess the overall reason why I like the taller ones is that I would like the both of us to be physically closer with one another, seeing 'eye to eye' when we hug and dance together, than to allow differences in height to reduce our views and become physically distant of each other.

>As for the accents are annoying thing.
>I think the bottom line is this.
>Accents are only attractive when are
>you are interested or attracted to the
>person with the accents. Otherwise
>they are annoying and funny!!
Point taken. :-)
I think this can apply more to real life where a person can gauge whether another person likes them or not at a superficial level in a fairly quick way.
It's been the case for me, though, that a girl all hot and bothered while chatting with me on the net, and then when I get her on the phone she'll react negatively to my accent. Other times someone will comment out of the blue that they like my accent, so go figure.
Some people like them and others don't; that alone will usually affect their view of you towards the positive or the negative upon first meeting you.
It's not something that can't be overcome, though. :-)

Vixen,
Are asian treated better then say...
Italians?
Greeks?
Irish?
Polish?
French people?
I don't think so, at the end of the day, asians are still the minority, we can;'t blend in and pretend to be white unlike the above mention.
Asians stand out just like Latinos middle eastern, yet my experiences of racism are very far and few.

Overseas Latino...
This is the Australia I see,
You can walk down the street without fear of getting arrested just because you look "different".
You can vote for anybody you want (and that includes voting for stupid people ie. Liberals).
Everybody have the same access to resource whether one is white/black/latino/asian..aLl dole bludgers are the same.
Australia is one of the first country to given women the right to vote,
Out of 4 referandum ever to succeed (ie. must have the support of 90% of the population)The Aboriginals was given the right to vote. This is a remarkable feat given that at that time it was very xenophobic.
I'm sick of heaing people like you trash Australia, why don't you highlight the good instead of the bad. Let me ask you one question, why stay if it's so racist?

Notty Boy,
I know that Australia is built on immigrants. I wasn't objecting to that. What I object to was people saying that Australia is very racist when its not in comparision to America for example or German. We don't have the KKK or the nazi, we just have in closet xenophobic, who are too stupid and scare to say crap to your face.
I'm just saying that for those who come to Australia from say(Iran) who don't like the Culture here, can go back to their country where democracy and dead, and one get shot just for not wearing a veil.

Asian Female,
The media is full of S**T, I know that, we all know that, I'm not brain washed by what I see, I don't believe in Santa Claus, I don't believe in the tooth fairy and I certainly don't believe in selective media brain washing. I don't go around bashing poor little Iranians girls because of Bin Laden or the crap like that.
All I'm saying is that Australia is NOT as racist is people make it out to be. True, racism exist but its NOT TExas!
Besides, I never met any Afhganisi or Middle eastern people so who cares.
