Arent we all asian's somewhere down the line. Anyways I love Asian women, theyre cute and graceful but kinda stuck up.

I'm going to make some stupid generalizations here so feel free to correct me, and open my mind to other points of view as well. ;-)

I tend to separate the girls where I live into two groups: the "mainstream" girls, and the "ethnic" ones. I think that anyone of any race can kind of be "mainstream" or "All-American". I also think that having "All American" or "mainstream" values is often synonymous with "White" values. :-) Unfortunately, sometimes this also means adopting stereotypes of other people; and we all know that we Latinos have a lot of positive stereotypes. :-p How do you think that affects other's perceptions of us?

It appears that even "ethnic" girls buy into this perception at times. Maybe it's because the American "mainstream" standard has been somewhat adopted wherever there is American influence; who knows. However, I don't think many people would deny that many cultures have and continue to be affected by this.

Going back to the subject of girls and dating, let's take Asian girls as an example. Have you ever wondered who is it that Asian girls who are "All-American" fantasize about? Who fits their idea of an ideal man? For most of these girls, I would bet it'd be someone closer to Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson rather than Bernicio del Toro or Antonio Banderas.

How about Asian girls who are have a more "ethnic" flavor, or who were raised abroad? Do you think maybe they fantasize both about local Asian "stars" AND Tom Cruise/Mel Gibson? :-p What do you all think?

What this makes me think is that it's very possible that the next Asian girl I approach has not even picture what it would be like to hold hands with a Latino guy, or kiss a Latino guy, or what it is like to be made love by a Latino guy like me. She has never thought about what it would feel like.
She has never imagined how exciting it could be to be with a Latino guy in the first place.

Should we blame Hollywood? ;-)

I don't know for sure. I grew up in Puerto Rico, so maybe things are a bit different, maybe not. Guys and girls were hooking up all the time.

Maybe, the boys at your school are dorky and insecure. ;-p

Serously, though, do Black, White, and Asian guys also avoid you? What are the Latino guys like in your school? How do they spend their time? Do you girls look approachable, or do you have bitchy faces on you all the time? Etc, etc. :-p

Thanks for your response. I can definitely agree with most of what you said. When you're out with someone, usually you just don't want to share their attention with anyone; not to mention that wondering eyes are just disrespectful of the other person. For me, at least, it's not a matter of whether I "let" her do something or not; I just have my expectations and I don't settle for less. Anyway, There are so many lonely people out there waiting for a chance, so why should anyone have to settle, right?

Now, if I were to ask you what was your last boyfriend like, what would you tell us about him? What was it about him that made you feel attracted?
