WHAT YOU SAY

Notty Boy, I agree with you. Mainstream media doesn't help any matters. I rarely see any Asian character getting down and dirty with a Hispanic on TV or movies!

I'm dating a Chicano and I adore him! I would admit that, growing up in predominantly white neighborhood (my former high school had like only 20 or so Asians and very scarce numbers of Hispanics, mostly whites and some blacks, out of 2,500 students), I had a bias against Hispanics (blame the media!) 'cause I saw Hispanics being drug-ridden, gangs, and awful attitude, always going to jail or having dead-beat lifestyles (too many kids scattering around and cheating). I can't believe how ignorant and biased I was. After moving to Los Angeles, things really changed because L.A. is the capital of all races and I saw that not everyone fits in the so-called stereotypes I watched or reading growing up. Finally, I met this really cool Chicano, at first, I was not paying attention to him at all, but when we happened to get together through mutual friends, the more I got to know him, I found him more attractive and fell for him. He's nothing like any other Hispanics I see in the media but that changed years ago. I no longer feel distaste for Hispanic men. In fact, I find most Hispanic men very, very attractive and passionate. I'd choose Hispanic man over white, black or asian man. Plus, he's a great dancer and very respectful. We have a lot in common besides education and family background.

Cherry Blossom, it doesn't matter which race men are attracted to. They are just attracted to whatever strikes their fancy. By the way, I'm Korean-American, I am not skinny or sharp-featured. I'm curvy and athletic, which I like this way.

Yup, it's the American influence,,. It's a case of wow,,,> look at these Hollywoord Actors, look at these Boy bands, that's the mind set most Asian girls in the US have,. They haven't seen much of the world yet,.

You can ask yourself, why don't they air mexican soaps or other international soaps, or shows even, in the US (translated of course)?

Personally I think, there are many mexican actors & musicians who are just as good looking (or even better) than say a T. Cruise/M. Gibson. The problem is that they are not show-cased here in North America, why? because they speak another language, it's a shame,,. How much people here in North America know who, let's say Jan is,? Luis Miguel is? Not much I'd say,.

Anyways, bye, Peace.
