WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
Asian Angel, come on!
What are you trying to do? Let other races and nationalities know that not "all" Asians are intelligent?? hahaha
The term "latino" or "Hispanic" used in America is to describe people from Spanish speaking countries in the Americas, especially for people of mixed ancestery from Europe and Native American, this mixture is called Mestizos. You know like your typical Mexican. Most are of this mixture although some are pure Indian and very few are pure European.
Now some are even a mixture of European, Indian and black, like most Puerto Ricans and majority of Cubans and alot of Brazilians, they are really "mulattos." But many Puerto Ricans and other Spanish speaking people from latin America use the term
Spanish incorrectly.
Only the real persons from Spain (which is located in Europe, next to France)should call themselves this.
Now the original term "Latin" was to describe countries in Europe with Romance languages like Italy, france, Spain, Portugal so it all depends on how a person is using it. Certainly, no one would consider a person from France or Italy as "Hispanic" in the U.S. They are white. And you know what the term "Hispanic or Latin" is really a culture NOT race. Anyone can be latin or Hispanic, even an Asian..hahaha.
Look at all those Asians in South America, they a Asian by race but Hispanic by culture.
I hope you get all this, its not really that confusing. Be wary of some retarded Filpinos calling themselves "Hispanic or latin" some really have low self esteem, anyway why would an Asian person rather consider himself Hispanic than Asian when Asians have so much more clout in this world.
EastAsia will dominate world economic affairs in near future.

I'd venture to guess most of us have an European ancestor somewhere. Yet, as far as I know, most Latinos are not "pure White" (whatever that means).
This varies to different extents depending on the country. For example, I believe that you'll see a larger number of "pure" European looking people in Argentina than you will in Puerto Rico (my country).

This is an interesting thing to say. I never used to think in terms of race when thinking of what I had in common with others. I thought in terms of culture or social class, until I moved to the mainland.
Either way, if I were to ask you what is it about Whites that makes them show more commonality with Asians, what would you answer?
Cheers,

I mean I know many guys/girls of almost every race and it seems that Whites and Asians show the most commonality, while Latinos are also fairly close to Whites.

Notty Boy,
Oh, no, I don't mean that non-Latino guys are more approachable, or "avoid" us less. It's about the same. Guys are guys, it doesn't matter the race, background, religion, etc...they all look towards the same things. =)

I find it appealing when someone goes through the trouble to make the attempt to learn more about another's culture. I find it enticing when a girl attempts to speak to me in Spanish or dance to Latin music. I think it is a wonderful thing and it always wins me over because it shows that the person is willing to learn about my culture and try to understand who I am. Sometimes people can be uneasy to step out of their boundaries due to discrimination and embarrassment but with a little courage and a smile on your face, just go up to that special 'someone' and say Ni3 hao4 or ¡Hola!.

Notty Boy,
What attracted to my last boyfriend was that he just wouldn't give up. At first, I wasn't really interested in him, but he was so persistent. He is from Mexico by the way. I don't know, but I probably gave him the wrong vibes or something. I am actually going to Mexico this summer to learn Spanish and he says that he is going to go to the city where I will be and visit. How sweet.... The other thing that I find attractive in him is that he is funny, LOVES TO DANCE, MOVEs his HIPS WELL when he dances,he is so passionate about soccer and just so much fun and overall just a nice guy. I don't really like long distance relationships, but I don't know what's going to happen right now with him. Hope that answers your question
OH, one other thing, he tells me his feelings and at first I was not used to this, but I really like it, I don't see him as weak, but really strong for telling them to me in a song or words. es lo mas lindo
