Hapa Hunny,
Once these little kids called my boyfriend Jackie Chan. He says he doesn't mind either; and that he grew up with it all his life, so no big deal. Although, like you, I wouldn't want someone to do that to me.

Actually, I think it makes my boyfriend more upset than he says. But, the reason it makes him upset is unique: He is actually half White, and I think he wishes he looked more White, which doesn't make sense, because he's dating and planning on marrying me, a Black woman. He will not admit to wishing he looked more White, actually, he's even satisfied when someone calls him Mexican or Hispanic... just not Asian. Doesn't makes sense to me. I guess, he thinks our kids will look more hispanic than Asian and that works for him.

Do any of you have Asian boyfriends who you feel don't like their looks? My boyfriend is Fine and really quite arrogant about it at times, but I feel his negative experiences growing up have caused some lingering insecurities.

I saw the movie you recommended. It's pretty interesting. These types of families do exist. It's funny how they incorporated their own cultures into one and then found their own identity. I tell you, it was hard to find this film, but I was eager to see it. Thanks again!!

Thank you for your response. It was insightful. My question was posed to all readers in this forum. Yes, get your sociology book, but do not heavily rely on it. I received my degree in sociology and this issue was always debatable in class. We seem to live in a world that is colorblind, whether we want to accept it or deny it. Although stereotypes seems to be an easier approach to identify people, we will always have the expectation to understand other cultures.

I'm glad I picked your brain. I love intellectual conversations! We can learn from others.

An Asian man comes here and announces that he's gotten his black girlfriend pregnant and all the black women here are congratulating him for that. What if he was a black man saying the same thing? He would have been chewed out and attacked by now. Are you women so desperate to find Asian men to accept you that you will show your double standards and support him in getting a black woman pregnant? There are too many single black mothers in the black community already. It is destroying the black community and it doesn't' matter who or what race these black women are being impregnated by, the facts are the same. There is now another child in the black community to be raised in hardship because of irresponsible adults. This issue needs to be looked at.

I don't think it's hilarious that a black female would feel empowered by the fact asian men want to F*** her instead of wanting to Love her in a serious relationship. As long as black women feel that this is something to be proud of then no Asian man is going to take them seriously.
