First of all, I haven't a clue who Mimi is. Second of all, I don't believe most American women look like your average model. Even Cindy Crawford will tell you she doesn't look like her until they make her over. I agree with you that these women are very attractive, but how real are they? Sure, some of them are gifted with their natural attributes, but most are not. Photography has a lot to do with how they look. I'm not saying they weren't pretty to begin with, but most do have help. Hey, I'm not critizing anyone for trying to make the best out of what they got, but come on! How many of us really look like that? Although not as common, even men are succumbing to these preconceived notions of how they are supposed to look, which in most cases, just like women, are not realistic. Media is a powerful tool! If you look like a supermodel, that's great. I'm very happy for you, but give the rest of us a break! Besides, if you ever read some of the articles from some of these former models, you'll find out just what kind of hell they put themselves through just to be that thin. Sad really. I'm not saying it's okay to be overweight, because there are health issues to consider; however, I'm not sure I would compare the average female to the average model. Maybe that wasn't your intent, but that's how it was construed. Anyway, I'm not sure how appropriate it is to have this discussion on an AM/WF forum, so I'll leave it at that. First off, I want to say I love white women. I love their physical features and sparkling personalities. However, I tend to be very attracted to European white women. They seem to be more open-minded than American white women. One of the reasons why Americans WF are not into AMs as much or any is the mean spirited nature of white men in America. I don't know if their insecurities will ever change, and that will not bother me because if I cannot find a WF who is sensitive enough to see me besides my skin, then I will have to go to another continent. I have had beautiful encounters with German, Dutch, French, Italian, Russian, etc. women that are both beautiful inside and out. As a matter of fact, I think many European are hotter than American WFs. So I say to my fellow Asian brothers, do not despair. If you are intelligent, take care of body, and confident, there are other women around the world who are not brainwashed by western culture.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. The signs you describe don't indicate interest in a longer term relationship. It sounds like she might have been attracted to you initially but later changed her mind.
I think a lot of AM who want to date WFs think that somehow the dating game is different because of the race thing. It isn't, even after establishing an initial physical attraction, you still have to win her over. This means not coming on too strong, a big turn-off for most women, establishing a good personality match, establishing yourself as a worthy mate etc. If she really is as attractive as you say, she probably has her pick of men both W & A to choose from. It is nature's way that she is going to want to choose the best of her pick.
I'm an AM who has dated many attractive WFs and am currently in a 6yr relationship with a gorgeous blonde. 95% of my dating has been with WF since I find them much more physically attractive than AF.
I have found that I have been most successful when I have kept the girl on her toes. When the girl is spending her time wondering how she can win you over, she isn't thinking as much about choosing between you and somebody else, or whether you are a good catch, or if her parents would disapprove. I have bombed the worst when I proclaimed my interest too early, sent flowers etc.
In my experience most attractive women like guys who are "cool" & self confident but are nice inside even though they don't really show it. The "cool" image is especially important in a AM/WF relationship because many WF already feel a little selfconcious being with an AM and it helps when she believes that others see him as a "cool" guy and not a nobody asian.
I would be interested to hear others opinions.

Be aware, if you don't mind me saying this.....
Be careful, don't put her on the pedestral. She has to earn your interest and "you". Definately show your interest (which you did), but don't make her this super sexy godess that make you finally make up your mind to move all the way there. It's fortunate for you two to meet each other, not just you meeting her. Make it equal, and she will value you more. If you think she's better, it means you are not that confident about yourself's worth, which appears unattractive. This doesn't mean for you to act jerky or that you are so superior. Just remember: be EQUAL!!

Can you remember a time that you were going to call a girl who you really like, and was feeling kind of nervous and will find any excuse not to call her? like, maybe you should wait for 3 days, or it's 10:30PM, it might be too late to call her, or you don't sound really good today?
Believe me, women go throught the same thing too. And they can usually (if not always) find the excuse very easily, since they are the girls, they can just wait for you (the guys) to call. And she's waiting for you to call, you are waiting for her to call........
Don't wait and lose the chance of your life time. Just, be the man, pick up the god damn phone (excuse me) and call her.
