WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
"I have been reading through these comments. It blows my mind. I have never seen AM-LW relationships anywhere. I live in Minneapolis, and I never see them. I always see AM-AW. Or of course LW-LM. I am shocked and wondering where are all of these couples at? ...." -- de veras
If you come out to SoCali... you'll see lots of AM/LF couples. I've dated LF's before, and it's not that uncommon out here, given the Southland's demographics. I have a friend who's Mother is Hispanic and father is Japanese. And another AM friend of mine is married to a hispanic gal. This is not something that just appeared out of the blue. It has been happening for generations.
You're probably correct, living in Minneapolis, that your chances of seeing such relationships are rare. In the Land of a 1000 Lakes, you're more apt to see AM's with Ingrids, or AF's with Lars, than with Shakiras or Antonios, respectively.

I love Asian guys, but I don't ever approach them because I don't think they'd be into me. Seems that's the reason Asian guys don't go after the Latina chicks. I'm gonna make my move, so Asian guys: Make Yours!!!!!!

aun san,
You will encounter that with guys of any race. It is a "manly or macho" type of reaction.
You did the right thing.
Let me tell you that even if it was their parents, siblings and relatives going against it, you should have no fear. Afterall, you are only going for the girl, not them, right?

de veras,
I don't know where you live, but here in San Francisco, I was just recently at a Japanese-American parade and there was a booth for people of Japanese-American/ Latino-American mixed heritage.
All you AM and LF who doubt it probably should visit the West Coast. Walk the malls or frequent the clubs, restaurants, beaches and movie theaters.
You will see it and it will only increase more and more.

"So when did all of this begin? Was there a trend that began this? Or has this been around and maybe it just me that have not heard of this before?"
definitely, it's been around for quite a while. if you've heard of the anti-miscegnation laws, it was made particularly for the male chinese railroad workers who after building the railroads started to want families and get married. since the government didn't want "the yellow menance" in america and because they were starting to marry everybody, and with whites, so of course the anti-miscegnation laws to stop the "menance." lots of chinese railroad workers started to marry mexican wives and i heard that lots of mexicans have asian features because of this. it's been done before and this is nothing new.

I have been reading through these comments. It blows my mind. I have never seen AM-LW relationships anywhere. I live in Minneapolis, and I never see them. I always see AM-AW. Or of course LW-LM. I am shocked and wondering where are all of these couples at? I have never dated an AM before. I am not saying that its wrong or right. I have just never heard of it before and it is new to me. The AM I have seen are usually with a woman and they look married, and with AW. So when did all of this begin? Was there a trend that began this? Or has this been around and maybe it just me that have not heard of this before? I am both suprised and delighted.

when i first came to the united states i had 3 mexican roomates. they were really cool with me. and treated me like i really fit in good with them. alot of other mexican did too. i started really liking their music and i thought the girls were real prety. but then i see they were nice only when they didn't think i would date mexican girls. i see a big change in them then. now i am dating a puerto rican girl for 1 year that looks like she can be eiter mexican or puerto rican. the mexican guy they don't care they still get mad and jealous about it still. even though shes not even mexican. when were going places and walking somewhere. they don't like that i am with a spanish speaking girl at all. they think they own every last women that speak spanish, all latinas or something. i don't really think its fair because it is my life not someone else life. the roomate they move out of my place and i don't care. my girl and me moved to sacramento and are more happy.

average secretary,
My niece has a little friend who is just like that. I can't stand it when little girls want to dress like that. They always send the wrong messages to men. Then when they get raped or something, they don't want to be seen as an adult anymore. I don't think I am ready to have kids yet either. I am still single and with NOOOOOoo kids.

I went to my ladyfriend's family house for dinnertime. Everyone say 'Buen Provecho' or something. I forget and say 'uno provecho' and they were nice about it and did not care, even though I screwed up. I think it may have sounded selfish like "one good eat" like its only me wishing myself good eat. haha! I have been in puertorico for 5 week now and still forget to say the correct blessing. oh well then
