Naki:

I think you need to lighten up a bit here. It's all for fun, you know. And many posts are actually quite educational, I might add.

When we are comparing/arguing about something, we don't "really" mean it, you know. Believe me, when non-Asian posters make some flammatory/idiotic/politically incorrect comments against us Asians, we'll band together and attack the individuals mercilessly!
Besides, I think the editors are doing a great job at screening all the posts. What would Goldsea be like if we don't have all these spicy/hot/juicy/controversial posts, eh?
I can't even imagine...

We Asians need more testosterone, I'm telling you...

Naki,

It seems that the Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino and Indian posters here all get along fine.

China is the only Asian team (out of 16 international teams) to the World Basketball Championships now (no, I don't count Turkey, Lebanon and Russia as being part of Asia).

LET'S CHEER THEM ON!!!

The "GREAT WALL TRIO" (Yao Ming, Mengke Bateer, and Wang Zhizhi) at it again!!!

I really hope Wang can play if he can.

NBA scouts will be watching the other less exposed and younger Chinese players with excitement and note taking.

I already got tickets for this Thursday exhibition between the US and China.

Wang Zhizhi is my favorite Asian player. I saw him personally and it was cool.

You're so lame. Another Asian of southeast extraction, I'm sure.
Is it too hard for your little brain to comprehend "per capita?" I dare you to give me the definition?
Chinese with over 1 BILLION people should have like 10X more medals to justify claiming "best in Asia" compared to Korea or Japan. But China does barely better. Real fair comparing 1 Billion to 50 million (S. Korea)or 120 million (Japan). Only reason Chinese garner more medals than Korea and Japan is simply because they enter more athletes in irrelevant sports nobody care about. I doubt most men would care who wins the gold in swimming, diving, table tennis.
China should be claiming medal like the US, Germany, Russia in the Olympics.
And far as Filipinos claiming best DJ's of Asia, humm, I wouldn't take your word for it.

Naki:

"While the idiots amongst us continue to argue inanely about who is better than whom, America discriminates against all Asian Americans monolithically."

That's actually very true. When people dislike Asian athletes they don't just dislike Vietnamese or Japanese or Coreans, they normally dislike Asians in general.

I've seen and heard black and white people seem uncomfortable with the increasing number of Asian athletes in American sports.

Although, my main point about Tiger Woods was no matter how much of a great guy you are with your family and close friends, unless sports patrons perceive you as a cool, friendly type of guy, you're vulnerable to acetic nickle n' dime media sound bites and discomfort on the part of many diehard sports fans who would otherwise support you.

Intra-Asian American bickering is counterproductive.

No Strike:

Chan Ho's agent, Scott Boras, got him a lucrative contract with the Texas Rangers. The Dodgers wanted to re-sign him, but not at the $70+MM contract he wanted.

When Texas signed him it was with the intent that he would be their star. Now he's bombed and the fans and his teammates are disappointed.

I've followed Chan Ho's career since he came to the major leagues in 94'. Chan Ho gets rattled when he's under too much pressure and doesn't get the right support from his manager, pitching coach and teammates. I used to get pissed off at Bill Russell and Davey Johnson for pushing him into the "star" role cause that's not what he needs. They used to tell him he had to pitch more complete games and be the leader.

What makes Chan Ho flourish is when he's considered a No. 2 or 3 starter and when he's not pushed to go more than 6-7 innings.

The current Dodger manager and pitching coach are exactly who he needs to be great. Honestly, I think he'll be back next year because Texas has a option to release him after the first year.

Now, Hideo Nomo is a pressure, star pitching. You can put him in a big game and say we've got to win this one and he'll go 8-9 innings and only give up a couple of hits. It's in his blood. He's accustomed to pressure games.

Naki,

It is the same strategy of what the ancient Chinese used to tame savage nomadic barbarians: the techniques of "divide and conquer."

There is so high of an inferiority complex that one or two groups have to think and remind themselves that they are better and not in the same boat. ALL DELUSIONAL...

If you read all the postings as well as boards all over this site (past and present), it seems like it is Koreans against all the other Asians.

Actually it is like this here only. On the other Korean forums I visited, the younger high school KA kids are more Asian-American tuned and not as rude or pathological.

Questions:

How can the Koreans be the best boxers in Asia if all they do is talk about Asian Games? How can they be the best of the world if Philippines have at least 20 Filipino boxers ranked currently compared to Koreans who has possibly 3 or 5? How can they be the best if Philippines had accumulated more than they have in International/World Boxing Championships?

Answer: THEY LIED!!!
