hi jaime
the model is Devon Aoki... I like her, she looks so good & so different in any kind of makeup! I didn't know her looks could create that.

Jaime,

I think the Asian model is Devon Aoki: her hair seems to have been darkened.

Hi Curious Girl,
I am eastern european too! and I guess I could agree with a lot of your comments... cause I am from eastern europe and I think I resemble the way people look there, but my skin tans quite a lot, so I think it is a little bit darker than most of the other people there have (except gypsy people). My eyelashes and eyebrows are dark black, but my hair is brown and actually sometimes it looks kind of gold or reddish if the sun shines on it! And my eyes are supposed to be blue, but they are more kind of grey-blue, I think. Plus I think my facial features are a little bit "asian" (but that can mean a lot of things, so not necessarily oriental). People have mistaken me for a Russian, quite a few times for a French person, and one acquaintance even told me that I don't look like eastern-european but like if I came from Spain or the coastal area of France... Plus I have a Chinese boyfriend, and in college once I was talking to an Arab clasmate, who told me that I look a little bit Chinese too; he said that if people saw the two of us walking together, they might assume that I have some Chinese background too. Sometimes when I look at some of my pictures, I think he is a little bit right... Unfortunately I don't have any siblings, I wish that I did but I don't so I can't compare myself to anyone, but similarly to yourself I used to dislike my tanned skin, and wish I was more pale... but now I've gotten used to it and think that if you can find a way to bring out the hidden assets in your looks, then you can make yourself look beautiful, even though maybe it's not exactly the kind of appearance you would like to have, but it will still be pretty! And yes, I think that Asian women are pretty; I've seen some kind beautiful ones, like this really cute Korean girl... to me I guess the beauty is a little bit mystique or esoteric... Well anyways, I just wanted to say that even if women don't have exactly "pretty" looks, they can still have charisma, that can be quite as attractive as beauty and it applies to people worldwide, I guess. To me, the most beautiful women celebrities are Katia Gordeeva (figure skater), and Audrey Hepburn (she is an actress who's long since died), but beauty is a universal phenomenon, and the fact that it appears in different forms just shows that each different kind of beauty is unique! It's like one of my friends has said: "A person is never really ugly, for each one has their own unique beauty". Something like that; sorry I can't find the notebook that I wrote it in. Plus if the external beauty is missing, there can always be internal beauty to make up for it, and it is even more important, cause external beauty will disappear over the years, but internal beauty will remain and with happiness will grow. I'm sure many guys with sensitive hearts would say that is more important than just good looks, the mature ones anyways. Oh well, I should stop, sorry this is so long, I guess no one is really interested in reading how I look, I was just a little bit struck by the similarities.

Regarding some of the earlier postings about creased vs. flat eyelids, I'd like to share my story:

When I was growing up in Hawaii in a predominantly Japanese-American area (I'm of Chinese descent), most of the kids had flat eyelids. They would laugh at my creased eyelids and tell me that my eyes looked weird and ugly. I used to spend a lot of time staring in the mirror wondering why I couldn't have flat eyelids. The Japanese girls would use three, sometimes four, colors of eye shadow on their flat eyelids (like on a smooth canvas) and I thought that looked so cool.
When I got older, the tables turned and girls in my school began doing all the tricks to create the impression of a creased eyelid -- the liquid liner drawn a little above the top lash line, the tape on the eyelids, etc. One of my classmates came to school every day with taped eyelids and would spend her time in class curling her eyelashes with a curler. Some girls had plastic surgery to create the creased-eyelid look, but I didn't think they looked attractive, because they ended up looking startled all the time.

So I spent the first half of my youth being told my eyes were ugly and weird and the second half being told that they were beautiful. It just goes to show you that:

1. Beauty really IS in the eye of the beholder.
2. The grass is always greener on the other side.

Pardon the cliches, but they're really true.

I am not Asian, but always loved asian beauty. I am mixed Italian and African American girl. I love mixed people, asian-white, black-white, greek-ethiopian, whatever! They're all so beautiful, the men as well as the women. I love to see mixed race relanionships, because to me it looks normal. Why in the world would someone just like there own race? I'm not dissing preferences, because as I said, i'm partial to mixed race people, especially men. As a final not i'd like to say, don't look to one look as beautiful, straight blonde-blue-eyed, curly brunnette-brown-eyed, wavey redhead-green-eyed, or whatever is "In". Just appreciate the differences. I love Asian beauty, African beauty, Europein beauty, and any other beauty you can think of, becaouse it's all beauty! God made us all, so appreciate it.

eyeshadow problem:

I don't know if anyone suggested this already, but if not, you should use MAC paints as a base or just as your eyeshadow. Those never crease.
