WHAT YOU SAY

I once cultivated an English accent just for fun (I stayed there for a few weeks and had lots of conversations with the locals to fine-tune the accent) and found out that although it does nothing for me in England, it attracts lots of guys here in the US, both Asian and otherwise. Maybe you guys should try it out on the girls around here. It's worth a shot anyway, and you could always remove it once it got irritating (and it will because I got bored with the whole thing after a little while and went back to the good ole US drawl that attracts nobody but flies).

thanx!,
The theory to the pick up game is to have an "in" and "opening." That lead to further conversation without overt sexual content, as that will scare away potential scores.
Some of the best pick up artist spend years developing their "in." From single lines to kino, from fashion to body building.
I just stumble that my slight accent was a natural "in." The conversation naturally lead to sharing background and interest.
"The rest is history" means that just because I had an "in," doesn't naturally lead to a sucessful score with each individaul female I ran across. Some were sucessful...other were "ejection has malfunctioned" crash and burn situation.

My boyfriend had a slight Chinese accent when we started dating, I found it fascinating and sexy. But over the years he's lost it. I still find him sexy. But a slight accent of any kind is intriguing.

Asian Sting,
That's the ticket. Anyway don't remove the "accent" totally. Because I did and now people just think I'm native.
But if you can become fluent with a slight accent, it become kind of cool with some chick. Because they want to know where you're from, because the accent won't be like HK, indonesia, malaysian mandarin. Since our base intonation is derived from English, and we should be able to catch the 4 tone system better since we are brought up with it.
It was a pretty standard dialog when I met new girls.
"You're not from here. Where you from?"
"Guess and I'll treat you to [meal, ktv, drink, etc.]"
The rest is history.

This is an intriguing issue. Keep up the dialogue. I think it helps many to sort out thoughts and ideas.

The "fitting in nowhere" sydrome, does sometimes irk me. In America you are Chinese to most people. And when I lived in Taiwan, I was American labeled. I can speak Mandarin pretty good. And my parents raised me in all cultural aspects. But the "accent" on my language hurts me in Taiwan. However as "AC Dropout" said : meeting the girls in Taiwan helped me forget the situation. haha
