WHAT YOU SAY

"Theories abound on the intriguing idea of the universe having a 'collective consciousness' or what you call the Akashic Records, and it directly ties in with everything Buddhistic (and Christian, and Hindu, etc.) in the idea that we are all interconnected at all levels of existence "

Well since people are discussing about something related to my name(Akash), let me jump into the middle of the discussion. "Akash" is a Sanskrit word that means "the space". MLK, there is an interesting quantum mechanical concept that is similar to your saying that "all of us may be interconnected at all levels of existence". This is also known as EPR paradox. Let me briefly explain it. Take two sub-atomic particles, say protons, and pass them through a magnetic field such that they acquire the same spin. In this state, they are said to be in a state of quantum entanglement. Now let these protons fly away from each other such that they are say, one light year apart. Pass one of the protons through another magnetic field that causes it to change its spin. Now conventional science of "local causes" would say that nothing would happen to the other proton since 1)After the protons separate from each other, they become independent of each other, 2) In any case the info that one proton has changed its spin can not reach the other proton before one year as nothing can travel faster than light. Actually the principles of quantum mechanics predict that the other proton would change its spin instantaneously!!! and without any application of magnetic field as though they may still be "communicating" with each other on a hotline. This defies all the basic scientific wisdom of local causality. Einstein, a bitter opponent of quantum mechanics, constructed this thought experiment in 1940s to invalidate the quantum theory. In the nineties, some researchers have been able to do this experiment in a lab in Princeton(?) with highly improved nano-second precison "watches" only to observe that quantum theory was right and Einstein was wrong. They have come up with the explanation that Einstein's theory says that only momentum and energy can not travel at a speed greater than that of light and since this exp entails transfer of info that is neither momentum nor energy it is possible.

Ultimately all of us are made up of these sub-atomic particles. Is it possible that we are living in a state of quantum entanglement and our existence is connected to each other at the level of "information(instantaneous) of each other's existence that is devoid of mometum/energy" ie "collective consciousness". May be the advances of science in the comming century say something more about it.

MLK,

bi-cultural life needs not to be half Western, half Asian. It can also mean half-immigrant,half-Asian. That is what I meant.

Immigrant=Asian ??--No,totally wrong!!!
As an immigrant,e.g. myself (sixth generation perhaps), you may lose language skills, Asian common sense etc.Your culture becomes a mix of culture and subculture.

MLK,

You are a nerd in disguise.

Schrodinger's cat, Copenhagen, Hawkings, Sagan???

Armchair Physics to Wheelchair Physics.

I'm neither a scientist or mathematician at this point. Just a humble businessman turning a buck.

1. Well you have to give credit to where credit is due. You can't go taking a Terra Cotta warrior statue into your living room and said you carved it.

2. Schrodinger's cat? Did it die in the box from radiation or suffocation. Or since we can never open the box it lives forever.....That's it everyone climb into a box with a chuck of radioactive material for immortality.

"Self-consciousness is energy using bio mass as a medium of cohesion"

3. Well if the human population is increasing and you wish to apply the conservation of energy. You either have a decrease of self-consciousness per unit bio mass. Or self-consciousness is coming from somewhere not of earth.

4. Whoa nelly. Subatomic particles electrons, quarks. What next WIMPs and MACHOs and unipoles. I asked about Coke and I get a lecture on particle physics.

5. Exotic Stuff flow through us. Well I don't think most particle physicist appreciate that. So no unseen subatomic particle has flowed through anyone yet. If it did that person would qualify for a Nobel Prize.

The Super String Theory has no place for Souls. Souls don't exist in Physics. Just look at any physics formulation. No variables for soul. Our corporal entity can suddenly shift to the other side of the wall due to quantum machanics. Doesn't mean our soul goes to the other side.

Physics is no place for those looking for spiritual enlightenment.
