I seriously doubt that this was posted by a Japanese woman. What does everybody else think?

I'm sorry, but I'm 100% Korean and I DO NOT think Jews or Germans are superior. I may be biased about the Korean part (=P j/k... heheh) but I'll never look down on someone because of their nationality.

Hmmm.. I must say that there are a lot of Chinese that look down on the other asian races, including the "dimunitive Japanese" idea, because of our great Han blood and proud history.
For hundreds of years the Japanese rulers longed for the status of the Golden Emperor, and they also copied chinese traditions... To the point where the Koreans looked down on the Japanese as monkeys trying to become chinese (humans).
I don't- but in my childhood listening to the legends and stories of the past, it built in a haughty attitude toward Japanese and Korean. But when we get older in the US, it all becomes clear that we're all working towad the same goals, and have the same basic struggles. Friendships with other completely different cultures while having the same american attitude is great. It's like not having to become a banana, while having a really healthy culture mix.

yea, i agree with londoncity guy. it's true that japanese people (especially the women) tend to go for white men and look down on other asian races....probably especially indian/bangldesh etc....
they tend to be less friendly to them (above) or even just act like they're the red carpet they walk on.
but for japanese and black? err...dunno bout that!! i've only seen 2 of that IR couple...they were so cute though!
:D then again..i have noticed that *)% or so japanese in UK (london cos it's where i live) hardly ever make friends/relationships with people from other races...you just see them walking around together talking in japanese and even (THIS IS SO TRUE) acting like they are in japan and they own the place.they come to UK and ...only befriend japanese...hmm, not right, huh?
it seems like they really don't want to give other races a chance..be that chinese, black, corean or any other (except maybe white..true y' all).

I am a Chinese American Male living in Japan. I wish to make a further comment particularly to London Boy. I think most Japanese females that go overseas have a thing for white/black boys. There are girls who aren't interested and they don't leave Japan. But I agree that even many Japanese women in this country find caucasians fascinating. Some of my Japanese female friends tell me it's probably because of the Westerner movies. They also want a romantic hero to carry them off their feet.
LondonCity, I do believe many Japanese people believe Chinese are second to them. (My boss even told me that.) According to him, we have a certain stereotype affiliated with thinking only about money. (What a hypocrite btw.) Yet these feeling are never fully revealed. I used to think only older people think that and younger people never do. Now, I do beleieve there are many young people who don't have any prejudices, but there are many who do.
There are a relatively few Japanese women who are interested in other cultures, but are too intimidated to go out with caucasian or black men. An Asian-American men look more safe. Seems like they have all the advantages in terms of thinking and behaving like a Western man, but has the Asian look. There's quite a few, but I suppose one has to know where to look. Others have found me interesting because I'm one of their only few contacts that can speak "kakou-ii" English.
I think it'll be nice for Asian Americans in Japan communicate with each other. Not only on the romance issue, but I think we have a harder time getting jobs as well. I would love to hear any thought from an Asian American in Japan (or who has lived in Japan for while, or is married to one).

God...this has to be a rare thing! Chinese and Japanese or Korean and Jaapnese will not be the popular couple anywhere....remember World War II? The Chinese and Korean families will go nuts if their kids or married to any Japanese people. Knowing how they were the Nazi's of the east.
Also, Japanese think they're better than all other Asian nations....too bad they're not!

I am a J-A woman. I've been dating a Taiwanese-American man for almost 4 years. Although I am fourth generation (Yon-Sei), I still hold much of the Japanese culture near and dear to my heart. Although I love my boyfriend, I can sometimes feel the slight cultural differences when we deal with other people. I do not know if this is because of our ethnicity or because of the general male/female differences...
I am from the UK..and I have had alot of direct contact with Japanese males and females as they all come over here to study and live. I'm all for Oriental Unity and moving on form the 2nd World War..BUT..
from my experience and seen with my own eyes Japanese people look down upon ALL other oriental races, as one Japanese male frankly told me..98% of Japanese in Japan still see us (chinese) as 2nd class and inferior..
its all smiles and courtesy but dig deeper and the old prejudices are there..of course not all Japanese are like that but some of the treatment i have seen Japanese people give chinese people in the uk..truely DISGRACEFUL..
i don't see many JF's dating CMs or any other asian race for that matter..but theres a big craze amongst the JF's in London for White and Black males.
As a Chinese..lets stop sucking on Japans dick..(look at some H/K teens..they think they are Japanese!)..take Koreans example..Proud of their culture and doin their own thing..Big Up all my ChinaMans and womans..BO!

You're dating a Japanese male, that's fine, good for you, I'll send a card. When did I say that was a misfortune?
As for the WM/AF posts flying around like tornado debris, I think it is applied towards those who date outside their ethinicity ONLY for the sake of trying to seperate themselves from their Asian ethnicity and escaping from their hang-ups on their own identity.
I think you didn't mean to make such a blanketing statement but your post did come off as such.
