to Hmmm, a travellers view, et al.

One more puzzling mystery solved.

Now I know why I'm so damned pink! haahahahaha! and I always thought that it was because the skin on my cheeks was thinner and the blood from my skin is more visible or that it was because my skin is sooooooooo freaking pale! I didn't know it had to do with genetics! In fact, I'm so pink that I glow like a glowworm! I have to use a neutral light beige foundation to tone it down. It really works, by the way, folks, if any of you have the same problem that I do. Any cosmetic counter will have neutral beige in three different shades, light, medium, & dark for the different skin tones. Shiseido has a really pretty light beige shade #1 that works well with Asian skin.

Traveller's View

I am unsure if the people you have seen is mixed with some other nationality. But you do not see many Pure Vietnamese (not mixed with French or Chinese or other Nationality) with a pinkish tone. I have seen some Vietnamese people with pinkish tones in the United States, but when you asked them of their ancestry, the answer is either part Chinese or part French.

I also note Vietnamese women put alot of make-up on. Perhaps this makes their skin look pinkish.

to, a viet;

Well, i've been to vietnam in the summer and winter. Once in the summer to visit my homeland for vacation, and on Christmas break because my grandma was ill.

This pinkish look seems to be in the viets genes or something, like everyone kind of has it.

This pinkish look seems to be VERY common, like the majority of vietnam has it around the northern area, the central area, and the southeastern area. I've visted these regions as a vacation.

But hey, it does look pretty nice, when the vietnamese people are light, they still look bright and spontaneous, like people who are truly always happy. When they're darker, they still look bright.

It's a plus, i see it as beautiful, it gives it an extra beauty to the skin tone.

This pinkish tone is just beautiful, and the vietnamese Kinh (viet) seem to have it as a majority.

i think some honkong people have vietnamese blood. i know some hk actors who are part vietnamese (christy chung for example). a number of viets immigrate to hk in the 70s.

well i guess we vietnamese have that pinkish look cos we are more exposed to the sun...under the sun people look somewhat pinkish and bright. if you visit vietnam in the winter, the skin may not look as pinkish.

Well, if you've visited vietnam then you would know of the beauty, but either then that you won't. I've also been to thailand, but i went after i've visited vietnam so i was a bit dissapointed.

To ABC in NYC, it could be through jealousy, or protectiveness for our people. I don't know, but seriously, i really like their skin. Like once in a while when i visited Shanghai, i would see a few beaties, or even Hong Kong. But when i went to vietnam they seem to be everywhere, light skin that has a pinkish color to it. Bright looking and spontaneous, like when they laugh it makes it seem like it was your friend who was laughing making you want to laugh too.

This pinkish color is very beautiful, and it is clear to me that most of vietnam has it. The majority of the Kinh of vietnam has this pinkish color and light skin. Mainly in the northern areas, central areas, and southeastern areas.

I just love it.

We chinese, well most of us when light are just pale, i get a tan once in a while because i don't find it very attractive to look pale. I want to look bright, like pinkish, but hey you can't have everything.
