Wow...what's the deal with the pink skin? it's not a big deal, you guys! I have Vietnamese blood in me, so I have to admit, I'm kinda pinkish, but that could also be the French blood in me, and the Chinese blood in me too, so...I don't know. All I know is that one part of me is not inferior to another part and the unification of the parts make a truly great sum. Viet guy in Cali is right. Make love, not war. We truly have more in common than not, and it would be a shame to see all this hatred in the US, where our numbers are so small anyway that we can't afford to fight amongst ourselves, we have to stick up for each other because we'll have to face the racism and discrimination coming from non-Asians. So...get it together folks and love one another.

To Sick of all the Viet ego maniac:
You say that you are sick of all the anorexic vietnamese girls? hahaha, you've got to be joking. I mean, no offense to Chinese women, I see more Chinese women skinnier or trying to be skinnier that Vietnamese in general. I go to a university, and there are both a numerous amount of Chinese and Viet, I've seen alot of Chinese beauty pageant and films, and I also live in an area where there are different asian ethnic, and I've got to say from my experience, the Chinse expectation for a woman is to be thin or really skinny, and there are many Chinese girls who are really skinny to the point of being pale and unhealthy. Ah well, whatever why you say that for, you're probably just jealous or insecure. I'm not saying that there are not anorexic viet girls, but it seem to me that the Chinese are like that also- even more so. Believe it or not, the viet expecation for a women is not really skinny or anorexic, most of the older viet prefer women who have meat on them, the reason why most of the younger viet girls are into the skinny look because of Chinese or Janpenese influence, the so called- super model look, though to me I prefer women who look healthy. I mean, you make it sound as if Chinese are not trying to be skinny or anorexic, I know more anorexic chinese than vietnamese. so, whoever you are, get your facts right, instead of lying.
Anorexic ........What?

To, A Viet guy in Cali;
Viets (Kinh or vietnamese) and chinese are somehow related. The vietnamese are especially close to the southern chinese. Why? The vietnamese are originally considered to be the Yueh (viet in vietnamese), who were indigenous or native to South and SouthEastern China. In no way were they related to the Han. The viets lived in that area originally and have been recorded to have forever. They then moved south to where vietnam is now (northern vietnam) because of the invading chinese (Han). There has been many findings of the oldest Homo Sapiens in china in the areas where the vietnamese originally lived, that means we could have been living there for even longer. Those fossils were of our ancestors if the escavations are right. We have more of a claim to them and are in relations closer to them then any other ethnic. We have more of a right to call those fossils vietnamese Homo Sapiens then the chinese do to call them chinese. But if that is right and we moved south, we did leave alot of our people behind. The Han moved in and mixed with them, leaving the vietnamese in vietnam to be the purest of the Yueh's descendents. That is a reason why vietnamese look so similar to the southern chinese, but still have some differences.
Similarities brought forth by the common ancestor the Viet, differences by the Han. The viets don't have Han in their blood. It is commonly believed that the southerners have less of a circle face, and has more of a heart shaped face, also leaner in body structure, brighter and lighter in skin, with bigger eyes and more double eyelids. It is possible that the Yueh line gave the southern chinese this (as it is written in chinese annals that the viets had these traits along with a whole bunch of stuff concerning the toes,toes thing too long, so someone else can right it if another is curious). The vietnamese have these traits too.
But the Han themselves are more related to the koreans. As the koreans are more Han. The vietnamese are only related because of the ancestors left behind from the great migrations long ago forced by invasions, who were then assimilated leaving behind the ones who left to be the purest of the descendents of the viets.
I am vietnamese and would rather marry a vietnamese then a chinese if i knew two girls who were equally as beautiful and perfect. But usually i would go with an open mind not caring about race, until i actually find two people who are both perfect. Never found anyone who's perfect so i keep my open-mind.
Oh, and YES I HAVE BEEN TO VIETNAM! Yes i do see a pink hue in the vietnamese people's skin (mainly attributed with the viets or kinh), this is usually found in the northern or central areas (never been to the southeastern area so i can't confirm on that one). The southern chinese seem to not have inherited that, maybe the Han genes were to strong and kicked that aside, but the viets still have that.
Hmmm
