To those of you who do not know what the definition of "anorexic" is. First of all, get a sociology of medicine book and read it before you post another dumb comment and make a fool of yourself..(especialy to the idiot who calls himself "to sick of all the viet ego maniacs”) In third world countries, developing and most Asian countries(besides the developed nations) you will find NO anorexics. 95% of anorexia epidemics are found in westernized and more developed countries (U.S.A) and people who are victimized by this social disease tend to come from familial backgrounds of middle-high to high socio-economic class backgrounds. In countries where food resources are plentiful and available, you will find anorexia. This justifies the FACT that there are NO anorexics in Vietnam, Vietnamese are naturally born slim---they are naturally something that rich people strive to be--thin. To those idiots out there who will associate a thin person with being "anorexic", I just have one question for you :" Ever heard of this wonderful thing called GENETICS?" Classifying a thin person just shows how uneducated and ignorant people are about the world. Anorexia is a SOCIAL DISEASE caused by women wanting to look better, thus starving themselves.
Second of all, anorexia is not a term that should be used loosely as you guys are doing. It is a "a serious disorder in eating behavior primarily of young women in their teens and early twenties that is characterized especially by a pathological fear of weight gain leading to faulty eating patterns, malnutrition, and usually excessive weight loss". Just because a person is skinny does not mean they are anorexic. But anorexics tend to be thin.
And another thing, who really gives a f*** about who is skinnier, chinese or vietnamese? Does it really matter, and even if we DO know who is skinnier, what is that going to prove? maybe to all of you dumb uneducated guys out there, it will prove that "a certain nationality is more anorexic than another". That is such bullshiet.
To Sick of all the stupid viet ego maniacs: You said "Question, why do you guys insist that the Chinese are envious of Vietnamese?" Sorry that someone OUT THERE insisted that Chinese are envious of Vietnamese, and causing you to bash the entire Vietnamese community in retaliation. But don't you know you are doing the same thing that the other person/s was doing, and also in doing it, making a dumbass fool out of yourself? hahhaha. Your comments fall upon no evidence or proof, it is merely the biased stereotyped opinions of a rather unimportant minor foolish character, and believe me, your biased opinions do not bear any truth or have any value to it.

I’ve looked and looked and I have never seen a Chinese person out there who are skinny. (in the USA that is). They tend to be bigger and chunkier. Which in my opinion is a turn off. Sorry, but that is my opinion. ))

Well the skin tone and features of the vietnamese people vary by region. The northern and central peoples of vietnam have different traits when compared to both the southern vietnamese and the CHINESE. The similarities may exist because of the ancestors of the viets the viets left behind when migrating south. But the viets are the purest of their stock, or to their viet ancestors. The purest viets are the norhtern and central viets. Second purest would be the south, and the third would be from southeastern china (but they do have like 95% han blood, but still they're the only other ethnic with ancient viet blood.) The ancient viets were contributed or described to have a more prominant nose with a good nose bridge or atleast noticeable. Also with bigger eyes, smaller bone structure, and more lean as some might say. Their skin tone was described by many scolars to have been pink in hue, and a bit lighter then usual. This pink look was described to have been unique or distinct to the viet tribes or the viet ancestors. This was also stated about the Yueh by confucious, the yueh are a branch of the viets. Also something about their toes. The northern viets are said to be the purest of the viet descendents stock, as one they kept a grudge against the chinese making it bad luck to marry them so they kept pure, two they didn't really make contact with the cham or any other ethnic so that's another contribution.
Ok, now about the south, they tend to be a bit darker because of the khmer and weather influences. Considering that they live inbetween the tropic of cancer and equator for the last two thousand years (evolution could very well have taken minor effects) their dark skin color is very reasonable. The toe theory is not evident in their structure, but they're still very lean, and small. Their eyes are big, and thier noses are bigger, flatter, and wider. Their lips are more full, and their hair tends to be thicker. The pink hue isn't there, and their hands are a bit bigger. It is evident in them a malay influence.
Every region has a different beauty standard. In northern vietnam their pageants would have a more different standard of chosing a beauty then would in the south for example.
How valid is my word? Well i've been travelling vietnam for 6 weeks every year for the last two years. Very beautiful. What i've said is backed up by history, observations, and current fact. It's what i've seen also, so i have no doubt about it's validity. I also see the pink hue as a majority in the north and central, and a minority in the south.
To top it off, all skin tone is BEAUTIFUL! Light is good if you like to have that smooth look and like to put on make-up alot and likes to be in the dark and light candles on a date. Dark would be GREAT for the beach. For muscles, and for a mysterious look of manlyness.
Their both a great type of skin tone, believe me i LOVE them both. It really comes to play the personality now, and also some other factors.
