I'm Korean so I really shouldn't be in this post but there was no "Corean men & Vietnamese women" post so i guess this is the next best thing. I have a question for any Vietnamese girl (or guy) out there willing to answer it. What do Vietnamese parents think of Koreans? Particularly if a Korean guy dates a Vietnamese girl. I heard that the generation of Vietnamese who remember the war hate Koreans because they committed a lot of atrocities and stuff back then. I know this doesn't really apply to the current generation and it certainly doesn't matter to Tui, this girl I really like. But her parents seem really traditionalist and I'd like to get some predictions on the kind of responses that I'm likely to get were I to meet her parents. Any Vietnamese out there to shed some light on the issue?

Actually, I don't really think that the viet are super short, maybe a couple inch shorter than average then Chinese, Korean, or Jap. I think that I'm at least average or taller than average for Chinese girls.
It take a couple of generation of good nutrition, it's funny, I know some of my viet friend, they've been in the U.S about as long as I was, somehow, there all so much shorter than me, sometimes, I hate it, I use to want to be shorter to look more fit in, but I guess I like myself now.

Actually

Most viets from the north are lighter then both the chinese i've seen from the north and south. The viets in the north seem to have a milky pinkish tone to them. Maybe it's the climate.

BUT for a fact, most of the viets in the USA are southern descendents, so people usually don't see that MOST of the vietnamese in vietnam are light, they just say that viets are dark, seeing only southern vietnamese, who as a fact are darker then the northern population...

I heard that most Chinese guys (heard from friends) usually doesn't like to date viet girls cause they think viet are tend to be dark and stuff. This seems kinda weird to me, cause most of the viet I sees are pretty light, on average, I think viet people in general are a little slightly darker than Chinese-just a litte bit though, but I can't really tell the difference. The exception, the viet from DA LAT, are usually much lighter and pinkish skin than other viet cause they live in such nice cool weather.

I came from south vietnam, saigon, my skin color looks the same as of Michelle Yeoh, though I only seen her on screen not in real life so I'm not sure.

I don't tend to fit the usual stereotype of viet girls, I think that viet are one the race where the people are most short, cause I'm actually pretty tall 5'5" and I rarely sees a girl who's taller or same height as me. It's so weird, but all my sis are shortie, hehe, j/k, about 5'1" and my mom is 4'9". Gosh, I don't know how I get to be so tall, hehe

The reason Japanese/Korea/Chinese girl skin's are sooOo pale like milky white in north america becuz they use SKIN WHITENING PRODUCTS and vietnamese girls havn't known about those yet.

You might be surprised that Southeast Asia (yes, Vietnam included) was once a place frequented by Indian, Arab, Persian, French and Americans. This type of mix also occured similarly in Latin Americas (Asian descended Native Americans with Spaniards). So, it would not be surprising for Vietnamese girls to look like Mextiza Mexican girls. Actually, I have seen a lot that do.

I think Vietnamese and Cambodian girls are beautiful as do many Chinese guys I know who tell me.
