Are the majority of Indonesians for Bin Ladin? I heard many Indonesians consider Bin Ladin as a hero. I think USA should kick out all these Muslims. All these Pakistanis, Arabs, Egyptians, Iranians , etc. come to our country and take advantage of our freedoms and send money back to their respective terriorist organizations to murder Americans.

Does anyone here think Koreans are less inclined to say their country owes a lot from China than the Japanese in terms of cultural borrowing?

I noticed Koreans have completely abandoned Chinese characters in their modern day language while the Japanese have not. Japanese students are still required to read some Classical Chinese texts and I don't think Korean students read them at all.

The Chinese in South Korea have been heavily discriminated while the ones in Japan have been less discriminated.

I know my post will anger some Koreans but this is what I've observed.
Koreans dislike Chinese more than Japanese    Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at 17:02:16 (PST)
Some Japanese are of Chinese lineage!

It is true that some present day Japanese have a "Chinese" face. Go ask a Japanese and he or she will say some Japanese have a Chinese facial type. An extremely proud Japanese will not admit to it but many will!

It could have been the Yamato Clan who were supposedly Chinese in origins.

Japanese are a people of many mixtures. Some look Korean. Some have Ainu and Malay blood. Has anyone seen a small and swarthy Japanese with southern features? Sometimes people mistaken them for Filipinos. Some even have a tinge of Portugese blood just like some of the people in Southern China.

Han Gook Sa Ram,

Thanks for the info. Now, I heard that North Korea had compiled a history book by the so-called living descendants of Kija Chosun (one of Korea's earliest kings). In Chinese history, this Kija was a prince or the son of the last king of Shang before it was overthrown by the Chou dynasty. He brought with him 5,000 men and settled in Korea among the kings of Tangun. Then, later he became king. Do you know the name of that book? Thank you.

Asian Genes,

Why are the North Chinese not in this calculator? I heard some studies say they might be closer to Persians and Turks than they are to other northern Asians (ie Japanese, Koreans, Mongols, etc.).

What are the margins of errors for this test?

"just wondering, did a Korean king of the state of Karak ever marry a princess from India? Was she fine looking? I wouldn't be surprised because Korean and Dravidian languages share some common features and the practice of eating raw fish (sashimi) is also eaten in parts of southern India."

According to Sam-Gook-Yoo-Sa (a book written by Koryo monk Il-Yeon), during the reign of king Kim Soo-Ro, a sixteen-year-old princess by the name of Hua Hwang- Ok of Ah-Yoo-Ta Kingdom (an ancient kingdom in modern day India) came to Karak Kingdom (an ancient kingdom in southern Korean peninsula) by a ship with some 20 servants.
She became queen by marrying king Kim Soo-Ro in AD 47. Presently there are hundreds of thousands of Koreans tracing their ancestry to them. However the book doesn't mention about her ethnicity, how she looked, and what language she spoke. My guess is that she must have been beautiful and spoke either Dravidian or Sanskrit language.
The book also records that fifteen of the servants that came with the princess went back to their homeland two days after her marriage.
As to the common features between Korean and Dravidian languages, yes, both languages are classified as agglutinative language. Korean language (HanGul) belongs to a family of languages called Ural/Altaic, which are agglutinative.

Here is an interesting site:
http://www25.brinkster.com/humanraces/calculator.asp There is a "genetic calculator"

It tells you the genetic distances of various ethnic groups.

For example, Koreans and Japanese are 97% genetically similar, according to this calculator.

Southern Chinese and Thais are about 94% similar. Southern Chinese and Filipinos are supposedly 93% similar (Southern Chinese are actually more closely related to Thais, Malaysians, Filipinos, Polynesians than they are to some northern Asian groups). Southern Chinese and Koreans are 74% similar and Southern Chinese and Japanese are 72% similar.

Again, check out http://www25.brinkster.com/humanraces/calculator.asp

Even when the end of time comes, blah, blah, blah,

Gee, for someone who claims to hate negativity so much, your own posts are so...negative. Dominatrix this, dominatrix that, one would think you were whipped silly by her! (BTW, I know who you are, my little cowardly friend...mwahahaha!!!)

Have you heard of the term, "displacement?" Where your own problems and psychoses are blamed on others?

Probably not, since your highschool only barely let you graduate. (But only after you slept with the principal...! heh heh heh)
