WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
me,
I have a different opinion. I think it's the Koreans who think they are superior to other Asians. (I'm speaking GENERALLY, of course, since I don't think all Koreans are like that, even though very many of them are.) They tend to suffer from the sickness that comes from being NEWLY rich. One of the symptoms include treating and perceiving other Asians, especially those who are of poorer and more backwards countries, as a lesser breed. They make this obvious in the extremely rude and mean things they say about other Asians, especially Chinese and Vietnamese.
Everyone falls into the trap of stereotyping no matter how noble they think they are, but many Koreans tend to thrive on stereotypes. In their narrow-mined world of stereotypes, only the best are Korean or Korean-like, whereas the worst stereotypes represent other Asians, especially Chinese and Vietnamese. Therefore, time after time Koreans meet other Asians who do not meet their stereotypes, i.e., who happen to be beautiful, classy, (or who have a high and narrow nose ! ) etc., and tell them they seem 'Korean', as if only Koreans are like that. I don't see Japanese people always telling other attractive and desirable Asians that they seem 'Japanese'.

Amanda C, Latina Princess to all Macanese, but not: thanks for rambling.
Wow, did anyone know there were so many hispanics who checked up and posted on Goldsea? I used to think this was primarily an Asian site but it seems I was mistaken.
Isn't there a site where latinos can talk about their problems?

Being hispanic, I think it's ridiculous the way we discriminate against Filipinos and other asians
Actually, the hispanics that are very prejudiced towards the Asians are the Caribbean types.
Puerto Ricans and Dominicans don't really have much appreciation for the Asians, and dislike them very much.
Cubans - no comment, they don't like anyone! Similar to the Japanese, because they have a superiority complex over other Latins.
Most Mexicans, Central Americans and South Americans whom I've met play it cool with the Asians.
Brazilians - the most fun loving group of people you'll find. They party more than any other Latin group, and are the most receptive towards Asians. Unlike the impulsive and often violent cultures of the Spanish Latins, Brazilians tend to analyze every situation, and have a calmer demeanor. This is the reason why they are less prejudice towards Asians when comparing to the Spanish Latins. Similar to the Asian cultures, there is subtleness to the Brazilian culture. Btw, many Brazilian women are far far more attractive than most Hispanic Latinas (and it's not only because many are in the Victoria's Secret catalogs).
Filipinos - tend to have an inferiority complex, many claim their Chinese or Spanish ancestry. Many Filipinos want to be called Tsinoy (Chinese-Spanish-Filipino)instead of Pinoy (Malay-Filipino).
However, from my experiences, I have to say that many Filipinos are good people, patient, and less neurotic than the other Asians. They are also very open minded, and can be friends with anyone. Definately a cool race of people! In my opinion, I think they have the best personality of all of the Asians. I'm saying this not because I'm Filipino or Hispanic (I'm Chinese)!

Matt Bruno,
what you could mean with "Chinese":
-the Chin people from which the name "Chinese" derived was Mongoloid in a sense of "Turanid" subrace.
-the Han whose culture is nowadays associated with Confucian stuff belong to the "Sinid" subrace of the Mongoloid
stock.
-the Cantonese who build up the majority of the people around the Hongkong area
are Mongoloid in a broader sense, they are in terms of race SE-Asian.
