WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
Most Koreans never say anything bad about their own kind, and find flaws of other Asian Nationalities. This is a FACT!
The typical Korean Pride Statement vs other Asians is usually like this "We Koreans are a very proud group, we may be snotty at times, but we are very in tune with our culture, unlike the Chinese or the Japanese who want to become White..yada..yada..blah..blah..blah".
Koreans basically like to beat around the bush with their flaws and insecurities by saying bad things about others.
What I noticed about Koreans is their tendency to scorn others with relative ease and efficiency, and insensitivity. But when other people make even a SLIGHT negative statement about them, they get extremely paranoid or defensive about it; like a swarm of angry killer bees, they come to a mass defensive and then counterattack in droves.
I find this funny at times!

AA Worldviews,
My original comment on "Western Christianity" was a retort to these statements:
"immoral/individualistic western society but overall, I believe that they do a good job withstanding against these sickening western "let's do whatever please us" behavior"
Please increase your reading comprehension skills. I would have kicked you out of my Bible study class.

First of all, it was originally spelled Coreans and NOT Koreans. An unfortunate Japanese domination of Coreans that forced this change. (Japan wanted to be spelled with earlier Alphabet in English language).
So, please note this correction and I really appreciate Goldsea.com for using the CORRECT spelling.
In regards to James PTBC:
He definitely had some biased views of other cultures but come on, what other country sells USED PANTIES thru. vending machines and what other countries do you all know that has prostitution because high school girls want gucci bags and not because they are directly/indirectly forced into it.
Only Japan, right?
Topic of this discussion was "Comparing Asian Nationalities".
Come on, give this guy a break. I want to hear what each asian nationality thinks of others.

James PTBC,
I'm not going to be harsh on you, but will say you have biased views. What about some Chinese guys writing about how proud he is of his culture and wife being "100% Chinese" and sharing his views on all other Asians including Koreans and pointing out their flaws. Or a Filipino doing the same or Japanese doing the same. Certainly, every culture has their flaws (yes, hate to shatter your soapbox, even the Korean culture has flaws).
AC Dropout,
Pretty common misconception that being a Christian means you are not proud of your own culture. Yes, many in Asia think Christianity is a "Western religion." There are people who want to become Westernized that they become Christians (but, then what about the Japanese- who many say are proud of their culture, yet also want to incorporate many Western ideas and yet only 1% are Christian). Again, a total misconception. This is not a religion topic hear, so I won't go into how and why I disagree. (I will be going to Japan for some mission work this summer).

"Why cant you "COREANS", i think it should be spelled KKKOREAN, spell
F-I-L-I-P-I-N-O!!??? Not philipino, but filipino, geesh."
Haha... ChinoXL. That's freakin' hilarious, and very true.

Chinese scholars often attribute Korean history as being 2000 years and Korean scholars both North and South attribute Korean history 5000 years. But the earliest references of Korean people are always were found in Chinese texts, as Korean people borrowed Chinese written systems later on.
Korean people are probably the descendents of various horse-riding people of central asia, is probably related to Mongolian and Manchurian people; however there were also Chinese people who has fled to Korea due to political reasons back in China.
Going back to the subject of food, Korean buffet is rather eclectic, but in "authentic" Han-Jung-Shik(Korean formal dinner), you will not find the eclectic mix of chinese/japanese food. But you might definitely see certain resemblences.
One thing to remember, some Chinese claim that "Nang-myun" Korean cold-noodle dish from Pyong Yang, has Chinese origin. Many Chinese people believe that due to it's older history that basically everything probably originated from China--this may or may not be true with cold noodle dishes, but one thing to keep in mind is that many chinese foods originated from elsewhere too. Afterall, that's what cultural diffusion is about. There are some Japanese young people who think that kimuchi is japanese people, and korean kids who think dakuan is korean food. In light of history, they are both right in the sense that each have decided to adopt each other's culinary history.

filipinos i know are very laid back, easy to get a long with. a very cool personality. I guess its the island life that makes you like that, u know, just enjoy life...not the case for puerto ricans and dominicans who are very agressive and hostile.
