NOTHING! haha...Im really passionate about my identity but i am not so proud as to be racist. My grandfather fought in WWII against the Japanese, my great grandfather fought in the Philippine-Spanish war and against the Americans, so I am from a long line of PROUD FILIPINOS! It really saddens me to read about all this ANTI FILIPINO. We are very poor people who have worked hard to get freedom. We've been F***ED UP by heartless foreigners for so long, its a shame, we have to get all this hate. The filipinos as a whole are so warm, hospitable, passionate. Even the people in the philippines who dont have a PESO in their pockets, or dont have a pocket at all, will offer any visitor something to eat. I love the Philippines.

JUST ME,

i cant argue with you. Filipinos are always being bashed, our morale is always being lowered by other asians, whites, and other people. We are often hated similiar to Mexicans being hated by their fellow hispanics. Thats why i started this cultural group here in texas where filipinos unite along with our mexican friends. Let me just ask everyone one thing:

Quite of a number of Filipinos have Chinese ancestry, although some deny it or others claim to have it. The Spanish ancestry is more obvious but Chinese is less so.

Just take a look at the past leaders and historical figures

Corazon Aquino has Chinese Ancestry. I think her surname was Koh Huang Ko (full name of her dad) and then changed to Cojungco in Tagalog-Spanish. Aquino is her husband's name.

Jose Rizal was of Chinese mixed with Spanish-Malay. The fact that this man practiced medicine in Hong Kong, and had some ties to China, showed he was considered "Chinese". In the eyes of the Chinese, Jose was a famous overseas Chinese just like Bruce Lee, in the eyes of Filipinos, Jose was a Filipino and a revolutionary leader of the country. To some, Jose was not a hero but a traitor who ruined the country with his western ideas!

If anyone knows about the history of the Philipines, it doesn't show a pretty picture. The people of that country has encountered many different types of foreigners, but such encounters have left many scars for the people...The Spaniards made the Filipinos lazy, the Chinese made the Filipinos pratice illegal trade and gambling, the Japanese made the Filipinos cruel and heartless, and the Americans made them materialistic and arrogant. I think the Filipinos today are still struggling for that true identity which was clouded by many decades of oppression and unrest.

I believe the people of the Philipine are the coolest people I have met from asian. I believe that they represent the best of asian and the best of western culture. If the people of the Philipines could get their economy together it could possibly be a major trading center for all people because of its location, size and their culture.
