Gen X White Guy,
If I'm not mistaken, there was culture here before whites came. It was the Native American culture. You're right, though, in that this place needed a culture after the we, the U.S., killed off all the Native Americans and their culture. (Same with the aboriginees in Australia.) Also, your example of going to Japan and China and whining is not good. The U.S. professes to be a melting pot and the land of the free, and welcomes immigrant labor. Japan and China do not. Part of what minorities "whine" about is the hypocrisy here.
Why are we here if we hate white Americans? Well, some of us were born here. And I don't think that we hate white Americans, just ignorant people. Anyway, don't we have a right to express ourselves if we're unfairly treated? You would want to take away our freedom of speech. Your question suggests that we should leave this country for complaining about ignorant people? It's just that many of these ignorant people seem to be fools who think that this country belongs to them and not to Americans of different color.
It's good to be proud of what you are, just don't be an ignorant ass.

I'm sorry... but i disagree with the first statement. I believe that African Americans have easily made the biggest contributions to the "building of American". For one, since they have been places here they have slaved to build this country from the ground up in every aspect. From Industrial to Agricultural. Even post Reconstruction when the south was in chaos. African American were the carpenters, electricians etc etc that rebuilt this country. All for free i might add. I really feel as far as America... African Americans have built the foundation for this country.

Indian, I am proud to be a White American , I certanly am not ashamed, self hatred leads to suicide. Anything i get i work for because i am not LAZY, see that is what America is about working hard to get what you want. I didn't get where i am today because i am Euro/White. Sure the US's culture is very European based that is because it needed a culture in the beginning and we had to provide one when we established the nation, same with Australia and Canada... that's all. Don't take it personal, i wouldn't go to Japan and whine that i am not being appreciated enough because i am white, because i know that would be annoying and i am more respectful than that. If you want to get ahead, follow your dreams and forget what others think.
And if you hate American Whites so much.. why are you in the US? That is like hating Asians and living in China.
