WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
to me a movie is better than no movie. at least you have a topic to discuss. the only negative I can see in going to a movie is that you will be sitting in the dark with a stranger for 2 hours. but, no big deal --as long as you're actually watching the movie, and not worrying if someone is going to try their "moves" --haha!

Mr. Hann,
A gentleman could always leave the option of letting the girl decide where she wants to go on a first date. Thereby, saving on the brain work.

My idea of a good date:
A hot guy and I...hanging out at Yiheyuan(The Summer Palace, Beijing)
and then go to Wongfujing(BJ)...and EAT alot at a Yeshe (A type of outdoor dining at night). And then a small Iced Cappucino before I get taken home.

Movie on first date? hmmm, my sis told me to never take someone to the movie on the first date. she told me it would be better to take your date somewhere relaxed, where you can talk to her and get to know her better. coffee is cool, but no movie.

to Angelique:
You haven't seen nothin' yet!
Look out for those Japanese exchange students in college!
If you have a boyfriend already, make sure he stays away from them...
Just an advice from a handsome Chinese guy who has seen it all...

this would be a very nice date for me:
very relaxed, not too romantic place (for a first date/blind date)
a movie
some coffee & dessert afterwards to go with some discussion about the movie
come to think of it, that's just a plain old nice evening. It's even better if it is NOT a date!
also, it's better for you guys not to come on too strong on the first date, since we don't really know if we like each other yet. nothing will scare a girl away faster than proclaiming your love after 1 date... (unless you get married the next weekend in Vegas --haha!)

Hi Quite ABC M,
I can say that the bar/club is not all that great for quiet type person. I'm a quiet type of person--at least I was/is. I went to my first club around the age of 25 because...well there was someone I like who likes to goto club/bars. I would say that you are not missing much experience. Here are a few things I learn from going to clubs/bars
1)I prefer sweet type of fruits drinks
2)there are lot of smokers at bars/clubs
3)after a few drinks--even the ugly girls look interesting...
4)all the women in the bars have there defenses up
5)I cannot dance well
6)finally I scratchoff one of my todo list in life.
It might be interesting you for to goto bars/clubs at least once, to broaden you horizen ... It makes for interesting conversation with friends. Like the time I try to pickup a girl--who's friend was drunk..
