WHAT YOU SAY

No mockery intended. when I'm on friendly terms with a poster, I tend to be less serious and more teasing. If I ever get really serious with you, you're in trouble and should find a bullet-proof shield, because I can be quite vicious in my attacks. :)

Words are just black marks on a page. To fall in love with someone merely based upon a written piece of work is strange, to say the least. If we have to apply AC Droppout's definition of the word Love, then it requires that we have some sort of physical connection because that would be the only way for us to gauge the physical/sexual compatibilty of our intended desired object. That's how we would be able to carry our genetic material into the next generation, right? How can we manage to duplicate the same feat with some anonymous written posts, dancing on a virtual screen from a faceless, shapeless, nameless human being?

A/C Dropout,
oopps.. on my last message. I did not read your post about gangs... very funny....it's a good analogy. How about this one-- corporate culture=gang=military=war=death? corporate = death? at least for the foot soldiers...(sounds kind of morbid)

BEiJiNg AnGeLiQuE, (old post).
not legal to:
1) drinking (not that interesting)
2) driving (i mean a driver's license--not permit)
3) smoking (don't know why people do it)
4) voting (not sure if you want to do it)
5) s.. (I’ll wait until you at least 18 to explain it to you..LOL)
6) internet (depends where you go).
7) R movies

AC Dropout,
Are you referring to Rockefeller Jr or Senior? Senior was ruthless oil monopolist with some alleged mob ties(monopoly was/is legal). Jr was philanthropist (spending dad’s money..hehee.) He was also a decent businessman.
And a religious person does not mean an ethnical person (news:Catholic priests). Everyone interprets differently what he/she see and reads. So, one person’s ethic’s behavior maybe someone else’s immoral behavior. (Clinton use of words)
As for my view of the world, it may or may not be correct. Certainly from an individual's point of view, the world has an unlimited supply of resources. But if everyone takes that viewpoint, in aggregate, society will deplete its resources rather quickly--as taken from Easter Island history. Supposing, they chop down all their trees and was not able to maintain their fishing fleets due to lack of wood.
Also, wow.. I’m surprised you did not attack me on the Japanese thing..hehehe.

Hannybunbun,

"Why do we feel a certain way about some people and not others? A product of our environment or something more esoteric in nature.....called love?"

First off you must believe all aspect of human nature is definitive and quantifiable. No Chaos Theory in Behavioral Science. Known initial conditions will beget predictable end results.

Then you must believe in the assumption that one of the goals in life of a human is to procreate in order to ensure the survival of our genetic material, or the closest copy we can get.

We select our complimentary person who can ensure that there a high probability of the survival of this genetic material. Since everyone's genetic material varies. The strength of attraction to any other individual will also vary.

I don't see how love can be esoteric in nature. When empirically, there are approx. 6 billion individuals. Seems like common knowledge to me.

be,

"I just think when you allow jealousy to become a factor, you lose leverage."

There was no leverage to begin with, that's why he's flirting with another.

"1) he's lieing to himself (there is no way a person can love another w/o knowing them that well) 2) he's too dependant on the relationship 3) his expectations about love are distorted"

1) Perhaps he knows himself and sees immediately a good match
2) Well if you don't want him cheating that's a good thing
3) Que? No more distorted than anybody elses interpretation.

I don't really know why a guy is afraid to commit. Probably the same reason girls are afraid to commit I gander.

firesnake,

We are all some way or another dependent on technology. My ability to judge the time frame was due to my intimate knowledge of that sub-culture in the Asian specialized HS crowd.

As for love…most academics believe that this emotion is entirely artificial and created when human culture had the time and the resources to devote to this pleasure. Love and the pursuit of this emotion can be interpreted as entirely as a high level game. A search for more and more intense stimulus in our live. So sexiness or any other aspect of courtship is but a game we play to stimulate our minds prior to satisfying our corporal entity.

Since it is an amphetamine high of PEA intimately, one needs to be weaned off it with another amphetamine. There is no known neuro-chemical blocker for PEA to date.

All in all the world you preceive is nothing but an interpretation of electrical signals in the brain. Even though most people would like to think we have transcended in a meta-physical term when compared other animals on this planet, that is rarely the case, as current event so often points out.
