How about saving parts of your genetic material, clone yourself, then do a complete lobotomy and insert your own brain into the new body? Keep doing this once every 60 years and you should be ok. Just a funny thought.
Personally, I think reincarnating into a different person once every lifetime seems to be more fun and exciting than being stuck in one tired old body and only knowing one boring experience all your eternal life.

Do something really outrageous to become famous, then kill yourself before you turn 30....

What? Has someone been watching the "Outer Limits" while creating polls, again? There is no such thing as eternal youth. Try as you might, you can't stay young. You can FEEL young & you can look YOUNGER than you actually are, but we cannot possibly stay young. It's against the will of God or any God-like spirits.

I could get into the more religious aspect of eternal life. As far as souls staying young, I do believe that can happen (to those who have earned it through living a good life)! After life is yong, eternal, & sweet. It is the most glorious thing. Until I doe, I have no interest in having eternal youth because it ain't gonna happen (I already look like I'm 22 so there goes my eternal youth).

Proteome?!?!?! Proteosomes are VITAL TO YOUR LIFE. To stop cell division may stop aging but one cut, one cold, one anything will probably kill you. Eternal youth can never be attained. Not by any known means. Nor are there any viable theories. The genome is alot bigger than it sounds. It'll take years and years before anything comes out of it. Sorry to bust your bubble.

How about the option, "I don't want eternal life for myself". I don't think that is encompassed by "I don't believe in eternal life".

[Okay. --Ed]

this is the best thing I just learned how to do: to be able to learn to quiet my mind. It is amaziing, now I find I have a lot more time. Instead of feeling really uptight, frazzled, and "behind", when i start to feel tired, and lose concentration, I take a mintute to try to "feel time" and it makes me be able to slow down. I'm not sure if that is what meditating is, but I feel a lot better since I've been doing this. Go to a quiet room, and focus on the present tense, hearing everything all around you, breathe, and in 10 minutes, of just breathing, and trying to relax your body, you will feel very revived.

I don't really think that there is a such as eternal life. No lifeform on this planet lives forever. We all live and die. However, to live longer, one has to stay in good health. In the ancient times, people only lived till their 20s, 30s and 40s and that was because of the lack medical treatment, hard labour, and inadequate nutritions. Now, people live longer to their 70s, 80s, 90s, and even 100s. ANd that's because people now have better medication to fight diseases and people stay in better shape and eat better. I think that humans can live over 100 in the future as medicine improves, but I don't think they can live forever.

I agree with Bobby! It's going to cost $$$$ but I'm sure they are well on their way to figuring it all out. On the other hand, who wants to live forever?

I work out every other day, eat right, and think positive. Sounds hard? It really is hard. There are days when I don't do any of the three but I practice them consistently and it's part of my lifestyle. I also use Retina A on my skin every night. I ALWAYS use sunblock on my face and body. I'm in my late thirties and look much younger. It's so embarrassing when guys in their twenties hit on me. I also get carded at bars and asked for ID when buying beer or the occasional cigarette. I don't think there ever will be a youth serum or potion to keep one from aging. I don't mind, as long as my quality of life is maintained and I age gracefully and with dignity.

They've already mapped the genome so it's only a matter of time before they figure out the proteome, then the therapies to keep cells dividing. Maybe in 10-15 years. The big problem will be the cost. For the first several years, it may cost millions. That's another good reason to save those pennies and dimes!
