WHAT YOU SAY

to "I want to be J Lo-free,
how to lose some of the rear end size is to wear slightly lower waist jeans., with pockets on the back.. don't get the type with no pockets whatsoever.
Slightly flaired on the bottom pants leg is great to balance the hip size..
Wear them dark to black also.
Don't wear baggy sweaters or shirts.. nor overly tight ones either.
Where tops that skim your upper body., and don't tuck them in. They dont' have to be long either.
Wear bright or light colored tops if you have a small upper body compared to your hips and rear end.
and remember- small back jean pockets can make your butt look bigger than it really is. Make sure your jean back pockets are proportionatly sized and simple-- not ornately stitched.
I"m a 39 year old lady - with a bigger bottom, and i tried these tips- and my boyfriend loves it!

I'm glad that boys like K-boy appreciate the "cute and youthful" aspect of being short. I prefer my Converse all stars and pumas over steve madden boots any day!

I totally agree with "K-boy", super high platforms only emphasize shortness and look rediculous. It brings attention to the fact that the person is short. I'm 5'1 myself, but I don't wear platforms to cover for it. I mean, sure, I wear heels once in a while, but the most I'd go for is like 3 inches, and that's already pretty tall for me.
"Petite women can look very adorable and sexy. That's the way God made you, so let it be."
hehe it's great to hear guys like "K-boy" say that. It actually makes me like being short sometimes. ^--^
So yeah! To short girls everywhere, so what if you're short?? All the guys I've dated have been tall and they LIKE the fact that I'm short!! To them, it makes us cuter for some reason. 0_0 probably because we are so tiny next to them or something, who knows...

I like wearing nice bright colors. Neutral colors look boring on me. They make me look washed out. I wear them for work however because they do look classy, but when I go out, I want to have fun. Reds, turquoises, and blues (reds being my absolute favorite) are great for slightly tanned skins. Why would you want to blend in with a neutral color?

Yea, I'm a guy and I find very short women that wear 5 inch heels everyday to be hilarious, and in the long run, annoying.
Honey, if we're going jogging, throw them Nikes on... leave the Nine West heels at home.
Women that are under 5'4" shouldn't try so hard to look tall. They never will be. You wont fool anyone by wearing 5 inch heels under your extra long jeans. You have no premium placed on height as men do, so there's no need to worry. Petite women can look very adorable and sexy. That's the way God made you, so let it be. Lose those platforms.

Does anyone know how to minimize the appearance of a J Lo rear? Ok, well not as big as J Lo, but getting there? Seems like all the meat went to the behind for me. A size 34A and a size medium thong in Victoria Secret(and i'm only 5"1), how does that work??? ugh...How do I minimize the look of such lack of proportion?

marie antoinnette that is not a very nice thing to say about petite women. you are probably fat and jealous of smaller women. no matter how much we eat we don't get fat, have you ever heard of a fast metabolism? oh yeah i forget that fat people like you actually need to go on DIETs to get skinny, and can't understand the concept of having a fast metabolism. by the way i probably eat 5 times more than you do.

Today I saw a girl in the supermarket that was so overdone I just had to laugh. She was about 5 feet tall, yet had four inch needlepoint heels on, but she could barely walk in them. She had those super low rise jeans on, they were maybe half an inch above her butt crack, and she had to keep hitching them up so it wouldn't reveal her butt. She had a half shirt on but didn't have the body for it, she had a roll around her stomach.
petite- maybe you could find more clothes if you tried eating this thing called "food". It's quite yummy.

It is always extremely hard for me to find stylish clothes that fit me perfectly because I wear petite 0. Currently, I'm working on one of my MBA marketing projects. I'm interested in opening a apparel boutique focusing on Asian women. I know Asian women are generally small in size, but where can find some solid statistics on this. I would really appreciate it if someone can give me some clue.

When I was in HK last year, the fashion was pretty diverse. There was lots of good denim, but also bad shoes. like those ones that are super pointy and are too damn long. what up wit that? I think over all, Asian girls dress pretty decently.
---
I am about 5"3 125 pounds, and most of the clothes there were sized pretty petite. apparently in HK i am a L or XL. haha go figure. I did see girls bigger than me, but most were teeny tiny..their diet must be small too!

"I've lived in HK throughout the 80s and 90s, and I thought that most ppl there, including women, couldn't dress for s***."
Haha... I don't know. The only HK girls I see are the ones in America and the ones in the magazines, and I must say, they sure do look sharp to me. Of course, they can't get away with those hoochie mama outfits like them fly Pinays can, but they look good with what they have on.

I've lived in HK throughout the 80s and 90s, and I thought that most ppl there, including women, couldn't dress for s***. They had stick-thin bodies (both guys and girls), and the edgier fashions that emphasised curvy or robust physiques just didn't look good. The only things the Hongers seemed to look good in were the flare jeans - they had the right body for it (tiny).

How about just a white sweatshirt(with hood) and a pair of dark blue flared jeans...(with a black belt)?

Nobody dresses better than HK chicks. Some girls can put on nice outfits, but it doesn't look right on them. HK chicks have that natural elegance, so wearing all that Prada and Gucci stuff really brings it out. Taiwanese girls come in second, but still a ways away.

"These are the most common fashion faux pas that I see AFs make:
-too tight clothing, especially shirts. If you have rolls of fat on your upper body, don't wear a tight shirt. Likewise, if your stomach is not perfectly flat, don't wear a tiny t shirt and low rider pants.
-dressing too slutty. Don't wear a miniskirt to work, and leave the 4 inch heels at home. BTW, girls that are 5'0 and wear 4 inch heels just end up looking ridiculous.
-dressing like a clone of every other AF around, with a Bebe t shirt, black pants and black Prada bag."
Yeah, and also, don't wear tight pants if you got no a$$. I don't care too much for boobies, but she has to have that luscious bootae!
Another thing is if you got wreck nasty toesies, please don't be showing them off to the world. You know I be jockin' all them hunnies sporting open toed shoes, so please don't make me want to puke.
"Don't wear a miniskirt to work"
This is called "Looking for a promotion." Try it. It definitely works. =)

So out of curiosity, what measurements are considered fat by these strict asian standards of thinness?
