I just don't get it !!!
I'm a cute guy with a little bit of money, a lot of class and even more good taste in women and I wouldn't know a prada or gucci if it bit me on the mug.
And believe me I could care less about the designer or high fasion craze. Oh sure if the occasion warrants it, I like to see my honey dress to impress. Apart from these occassional special occassions I prefer to devote my male attention to a woman wearing a simple sun dress with sandals and a touch of cosmetics if even that, or baggy pants and tee-shirt or her Kmart jeans. I'm much much more interested in the woman herself as opposed to what she's wearing. By the way, more than one ring on each hand or more than one bracelet on each wrist, toe rings, long nails etc are overkill and turn me off pretty quickly.
In essense I prefer my woman to be simple on the outside and sensuous as hell on the inside !!!

p.s. --I don't have the money to flaunt labels, but even though I don't personally do it, I don't think that it is the worst thing you can do

I agree totally that asian females are fashion conscious and materially dependednt. It seems that asian females are more infatuated with what they are wearing than to focus on looking for their chow yun fats. This phenomenon probably explains why there are so many single asian guys out there because their chicks dump them to go shopping at banana republic or versace.

I don't find anything wrong with enjoying the finer things in life (i.e. brand name accessories, clothing) and I don't believe many Asian women flaunt it either. If someone chooses to purchase and wear nice things, how is it any of your business?

hey miss "get a clue"

if you've got it flaunt it.

besides, maybe they are on their way to somewhere fabulous. I think it's much worse to be smelly and unwashed than overdressed.

what gets bothers me infinitely more are the people that wear ripped or other unkempt clothes. If people are flaunting their labels, I just don't care. I really dislike ungroomed and unwashed people.

yeah, i agree about the over-dressing. A Japanese friend of mine wears very expensive Cashmere sweaters to go bowling in! Her dry cleaning bill must be astounding, with as much smoke there is there! Nothing is ever for comfort with my AA friends. It is all about the name brand, how much it costs, the hair and make-up, and how high and expensive the platform shoes are.
It was interesting to see some of my AA friends when we went white-water rafting last year when they had never been before. Wet DKNY all around, and a $200 vegetable hair dye job from DC washed over all of us. There is a time and place for casualness and comfort, just as there is a place for dressing up.

get a clue,

I know what you mean. Those poor women who can only afford off-the-rack name brands. It really is so sad. It so pedestrain.

I wish I could invite all these girls to the proper fashion houses off 5th ave for a custom fitting each season. They would never go back to off-the-rack fashion.

black is best,

You sound like a New Yorker.

Oh I think the worst by far is AFs that completely overdress all the time, everywhere they go. I see them at college, wearing designer clothes and an Hermes scarf. It's just freakin class, why do you have to show off how much money you have?? And in the supermarket wearing like Gucci boots and a Prada bag. It's just groceries! Who are you trying to impress, the stockboys?

I don't think all black everyday is a fashion mistake at all. I love it, and do it frequently. My best clothes happen to be black, and so I will continue to wear them -- I just gravitate towards this colour because I never have to be in any mood to wear it(or I am always in a black mood --take your pick), unlike real "colours". In the summer, it's white all the time or light grey. They are my neutrals.

Worst fashion gaffe- Always wearing all black EVERY DAY. Have some originality.

I totally agree-- in my school all the "popular" Asian girls practically look like the same-- dark brown dyed hair. I think they should be proud of their heritage, don't dye their hair, just get it cut really cute, have your own style, and the most important thing is NOT to care TOO much about how you look and trying to look like everyone else. HAVE YOUR OWN STYLE. Confidence will get you noticed in half a second!
