WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
Hey...just took a plunge and recently got extentions. Had a bad mishap awhile ago when my ex-fiance and i broke up. I cut my middle of my back length hair into a REALLY short bob in a fit of stupidity. My hair grows soooo slow and i missed it so much i decided to get it back!!! Let's just say it's a lot of work!! If anyone knows of any products that are like "Miracle Grow" for the hair please let me know!!! Thanks all!!

Even though i have a straight and wavy hair mixture, I still have a problem with my hair holding curl for any long period of time. It ALWAYS winds up falling out. I think i've tried everything i can possibly try. The good side is when my hair does behave i'm told i have hair most women would kill for. Shiny, thick and full of body.

i have very long thick black hair.....but i find i ahve a mixture of frizzy and soft hair. I find it draws a lot of attention, most of the time it's friendly!
I have in the past always had short hair...it was in the 80's( princess Diana cut). But I find that the older i get the better ir has got. Due to healthy living and genes, i think. Take care of your hair but don't let it take over your life. Expensive hair products are no better than cheaper brands...they all tend to just coat the hair with silicone.

I can see the hair rebonding straightening system has not hit your side of the World yet! Asians in HK, Japan, and Singapore are all having there hair straightened. The process in cantonese is called 'fu lai ji'. It basically means negative protein. I had my hair done six months ago. It takes 4 hours to do, but the results are fantastic. You can come out the shower without having to blow dry, you save time and money on hair products. My hair is silky, shiney, and easy to manage. Its the best thing I've done to my hair! I know you can get it done in Berverley Hills. Best to check with Asian hairdressers. Check out the phi-ten website. All type in hair rebonding on a search engine. Take my reccomendation and try it. Next time you see an asian girl with ultra straight hair, your know why!

I have the same question as No Skunk Please. Anybody have suggestions on how to have brownish/caramel highlights without red on dark brown hair?

to add to the biggest hair headache topic:
It's hard to get ideas for hair when all the books at the salon show are white people with non-asian hair.

I want natural highlights. Can anyone suggest any colors that work with dark brown hair without them turning orange?

well said Blackilocks,
I used to have good hair when I was "lazy" and only did the perfunctory wash/condition, with no blowdryer or colour/curl/whatever else styling. It was always shiny, and I never had split ends.
Since I started trying to make it more "fun" --with colour, and styling, it's been getting more and more ragged. and it's never looked worse!

I am Asian and have a long hair down to my buttocks, I love my hair, and so is my Fiance, It's a pain in a butt sometimes to take care of it especially if I'm in a hurry to go work, I always have it on pony tails, it works a lot especially if you're a Nurse like me. To all the women out there with long hair, enjoy it and take care of it.

I attribute my healthy, super-straight and super-thick hair to two things: genetics and laziness. I was always too lazy to style my hair, blow dry it, curl it, color it, or whatever. So all I ever did was wash, condition, and air dry. Same now. Sometimes the hair stylist convinces me to buy some products, but they always end up in the medicine cabinet because I can never be bothered to put them in. Pro is that my hair is very healthy and shiny, and I've never had to worry about split ends and such. Con is I feel my hair style is pretty boring, or rather, non-existent. My hair is long now (almost to my waist), but I used to have my hair super short, like a boy's. I loved having super short hair, but because of my aforementioned laziness, I could never make it look quite as sleek and hip as the stylist could. If you want to get your hair cut super short and you have really thick Asian hair, be sure your stylist doesn't cut it TOO short (your hair will stick straight out because it has no weight), ask them to taper the ends, and to use thinning scissors to just take out some hair. Also do a quick test: lift up your hair and make sure your ears lie fairly flat against your head. Con of really short hair is you need frequent trims to keep it looking good, which translates into $$$.

my hair is thick and wavy and i CANNOT do anything with it...not evn put it in a ponytail!!! i had a at home chemical sraightner....and it didn't work!! i always use products in my hair to keep it somewhat normal. i started blowdrying it straight and it worked like a dream this summer i decided to give my hair a break from the products and letting it air dry. After a few weeks, i noticed big differeces! my hair was striaght without blowdrying it!! i used a deep conditioner a few days ago and now it feels so soft. my hair always felt like a wig. now my hair is in the best condition it can be. it still gets frizzy after my hair dries , but in the morning it gets smooth. i'm so happy now!! for those peeps who is in desparate help to get striaght hair, towel dry ur hair for 10 min., then divide into layers to blowdry with a round brush, aiming the blowdrier downwards to avoid flyaways. do each layer one at a time. u can also go to www.pantene.com to get full details.

what's your favourite drug store hair dye?
I did my hair with Nice N Easy, and like it, but it was very strong smelling.
I'd like to try Feria. Does it really work? I like the idea of shimmering shine, but I don't know if I can believe it.

The choices were a little bit limited- that is, for me. Why that is is because my hair is undescribable- lyke, NO ONE in this world can do anything with it because it's too wavy and thick! I know alot of other people have thick and wavy hair, but at least they can do something with it! I mean, all i can do with my hair is tie it back in a pony tail!
