WHAT YOU SAY

hi hi, here's a tip, not for everyone but people who are willing to just go for it: I bought a pair of hairstylists' shears and those flat hinged clips and cut my own hair! I used two large mirrors and cut it from long to above chin length. I highly recommend cutting your hair, even if you're really scared. I've always had really long hair that was a big part of my image-- my slightly wavy shiny dark auburn mane always got a lot of stylists', males' and females' attention alike... so I always was scared that if I cut it really short I'd morph into some unnoticed plain mousy girl. But actually, short hair makes short people look proportional (I'm 5'2" and 95 lbs... petite frame) and brings out your features, esp the eyes and good facial bone structure. If you have any texture to your hair and have a ovalish face with pretty, girlish features (wide spaced eyes, high cheekbones, great skin, nice nose), I guarantee you'll love having a shorter cut (but no bangs, esp if you have a nice forehead)!! Liberation from the "I have a dead animal hanging off my back and I look like every other asian girl with long layers and highlights!" syndrome! yay! Go for it, girl. Go slowly, in layers, but have fun and it will be the cutest thing ever. Kinda messy in that "my boyfriend cut it for me" way. As a styling product for short wavy hair, try John Frieda's Upbeat whipped styling creme or Frizz Ease Secret Weapon styling creme (for drier hair). Try flipping the ends outwards when it's drying and you are working the product through!

i do NOT like my hair! my mom has wonderful hair, but i don't. i have a lot of it, but it's fine and doesn't have any body. SOO- i need some styling products that actually give volume and movement.

half and half,

I also am half asian, half white (irish). My hair is dark brown, and last year i had it professionally highlighted (similar to J-Lo's color). It came out beautiful! I originally wanted something red, but the stylist talked me into a "honey brown" color. The best part about the highlights is, there was almost no maintenence! It grew out pretty naturally, and by the time you could even notice, a little nice and easy did the trick.

I'm a Filipina and this is my opinion on Asian hair: I Love It! I have nothing against any other race's hair type, but I love Asian hair. Last year I dyed my hair about three shades lighter and cut it to my shoulders. Ugh!!! Everyone was doing it...there was no individuality. So about 6 months later I dyed it back to black (cuz I didn't feel like waiting for it to grow out) and I'm growing my hair back down to my waist. It's a lot sexier and has a really "Asian" look to it.

In New York I use to go to Stuyvesant St. near the Japanese Grocery Store in East Village. Now in France finding a hairstylist that understands my hair is hard to find. If anyone has recommendations please e-mail me @ my site http://www.dainne.com

I decided that I won't bother to redye my hair--it's too wrecked.

But, I have found a great (lower-priced) conditioning shampoo, and conditioner: try Fructis. It's improved the weakness and reduced the breakage by a lot.

I have lots to work with, but I can't come up with a good hairstyle for that looks good with my diamond shaped face. Any ideas?? I am thinking I want something cute, but sexy and not too Funky.

I'm half asian and half white. My hair is dark brown with light brown to reddish highlights naturally. I would like to have highlights like Jennifer Lopez. Has anybody achieved such a color? If so, how and what's the maintenance like?

everyone is always saying asian hair is so pretty and stuff. don't get me wrong because i love my hair but sometimes it is just so hard to do my hair. it's very thin so when i put my hair up or curl my hair it'll go flat in a couple of minutes. which is why i spend so much time on it. if you know any easy hair DOs please email me and tell me thx.

How long should you wait before you try another dying your hair again?

I dyed my hair a lot a few years ago, and just recently (about mid August) used Nice N Easy again since I used it before, and liked the colour (dark ash brown).

how long should I wait before I try another colour? I want to try the Feria colour Black Cherry.

(My hair is pretty weak right now, and it's breaking so much that it is noticeably thinner at the top, and I feel like cutting my hair except that I look ugly in short hair)

thanks

Well I think hair are considered as the sign of beauty. Hair plays a major role in making a woman beautiful.
But at the same time they require lot of time and attention.
My biggest problem with hair is to find a nice hair style that I can wear when I go to parties or go out with my husband.
By the way my husband fell in love cuz of my hair :)

I'm newly experimenting with coloring my hair, and finally found an Asian stylist that can relate to my worries.

I took a big leap of faith this weekend and colored my hair with Feria (in Bronze Shimmer). Although my hair didn't come out as light brown as the box (thank god or I would've passed out) but my hair got a beautiful copper tone mixed with brown & a hint of red. I thought I wanted to have the light brown look in my hair but now I'm glad it didn't come out that way because would make my skin appear even more sallow. If anyone wants to try Feria, I strongly recommend it. The only thing was that the smell from the dye was very strong causing me to have to walk out of the bathroom a few times. Maybe my eyes are more sensitive. By the way, it was my first time coloring my hair too! I'm so addicted now..already thinking of what shade I will try when touch-up time comes around!!
