WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
i think asian people by far have the nicest hair..i use to have long thick black hair that fell down my back and i got really tired of it cuz every asian has black hair so i decided to dye/streak it blonde one day (to make it brown) and it looked really nice with my complextion. I guess the hair dye made my hair a little thinner (i'm happy) cuz it was REALLY THICK before and it's a lot more easier to comb through but i mean do whatever with your hair as long as you like it. some tips...shampoo as usual, rinse and add a lot of conditioner and leave in for a couple minutes then rise in COLD water (it makes your hair softer) try not to use a blow dryer because it's easy to get split ends just try to

I don't understand why everyone likes long hair so much; I think it's hideous! It just hangs there in limp, stringy tendrils, looking flat and utterly lifeless. What's supposed to be sexy about that? I actually think all women can be improved with the right short haircut; it has more volume, stays in better condition, doesn't get in the way, looks more confident, and showcases a woman's face a lot better than long hair.
I'd never date a woman who had or wanted long hair. . .

this year everyday to school i am styling my hair a new way. You know at first you're scared of what people think, but then somethings are so unsual but so cute and you get complements. It fun! :)

I am Japanese-American with reddish-brown hair. I started putting caramel colored highlights in it about two years ago and everybody loves it. I have a great hairstylist in Boston who highlights my hair using foils. I have an olive-colored complexion and I used to dye my hair black but it made my skin look darker. My husband wants me to dye it more blonde and I will try that after I finish growing out my hair, which is in layers (frames my face.)

Crucial advice to all asian females, let's not forget about the males as well: Brassy, do it yourself wannabe blonde, but not quite there yet turned orange coloring in the hair should be illegal!!!!!!! People, blonde is not suitable on everybody. And it's no wonder people say we all look alike!!!!!

i have not colored my hair blonde nor tawny because some Asian gals with blonde streaks/locks definitely look ghostly pale. i find those work for Japanese women though, because they have beautiful fair skin to match with the highlights. well, anyway, maintaining my hair to prevent split ends is quite a headful - i wonder why people would wanna dye their hair and add another strand of responsibility to their hair. some people told me it's fun to experiment with colors and looks (not trying to be white). doesn't coloring cause more split-ends?? if your scalp is flaky and hair-dyed, should you use color treatment shampoo or anti-dandruff??

To asian girl with no orange streaks,
Great to hear another comment against gangster hair.
"You have the right to look however you want, but please realize that it's nice to be able to to recognize one lovely girl from 20 other ones."
Out of curiosity, what type of hair does a girl have to have for you to consider her a lovely girl that stands out from twenty other ones? Do you have this type of hair?

I think there's asian girls that look good with hair that is highlighted a shade of blond, not orange. And then there's ones that should've never had that done to their hair. As for me I get my hair highlighted a blondish/brown tone in the summertime and then dyed back to a dark color in the winter time. It all depends on what you like. Please yourself not others.

I hate seeing streaks in dark hair. It looks cheap! If you have dark hair and want to go for a bit of lightening, a sheer colour rinse over the dark is ok, but forget about chunks --it even looks like shit on light hair! In general I think streaks are only good on light coloured hair, and even then, only in a natural looking pattern --forget the "funky" trash look.

I'm thinking of getting some chunks of color in my "asian black" hair, i'm looking for a funky, yet professional look (if thats possible). i've been looking for some pics of ASIANS with this look. i find plenty of caucausions w/ it, but as you all know, it always look different on asian hair. can anyone send me some pics or forward a good website w/ pics.

have a little individuality.
stop styling your hair in the generic "gansta-asian-with-shoulder-length-hair-and- horrible- orange-streaks" look.
you have the right to look however you want, but please realize it's nice to be able to recognize 1 lovely girl from 20 other ones.

My hair is thick and brown. I think the most comments I get (about the way I look) are "she has beatiful thick hair" and "her eyes are pretty" Just recently I got my hair streaked with red. Three streaks on each side. Alot of peoples at my school said they thought it looked cool.

Ladies,
I've spent hundreds of dollars on products to "defrizz" my hair. But I recently discovered the BEST thing to use- spray on lotion!! Blowdry your hair until it's dry then spritz on just A LITTLE all over your hair. Brush the lotion through, then blowdry. Repeat if necessary. The first time I tried it I put on too much lotion and my hair looked greasy. But this really works. And the best thing is that your hair gets silkier throughout the day. Let me know how it works for you.

Why is it that a lot of Asian women have their hair shoulder-length and streaked blonde? Blonde streaks and black hair do not mix at all. The streaks turn orange! Most Asian women have a dark cherrywood undertone to the black hair. Long hair is out! Come on girls chop off that hair! Sure long hair is sexy in your 20's, but when you hit the big 3-0 cut it short. Now for the horrible condition of frizz! Try John Frieda Smoothing Serum. Then straighten with a steam and shine straightening iron. Volume can be obtained by cutting off excess hair that may weigh itself down. Layers always help by adding texture and movement.

I want to dye and highlight my hair (a shade of brown) because i think the color would be very flattering to my light skin tone but then i realized i would look like every other asian girl.
