WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
I've done so much with my hair that I just don't know what else to do. I'd like it to grow because I haven't tried having long hair since my adolescent years and have had it short since then. Short hair suits me, but I'm afraid if once my hair is long, what if it doesn't look good, and I wasted all that time waiting for it to grow! Anyway, it's fun having hair that can be layered, colored, permed (couldn't really do it with hair above my ears...) Have fun with hair while you're young I guess! That's why I'm experimenting now!!

i'm starting to get into the punk look but i'm kinda self conscious about how i'm gonna look. my face is between a round and oval shape..chubby cheeks...and juss chubby all around haha
my question is..would it look alright if i get my hair cut short, spike it in the back..but have bangs in the front? and maybe put like a bandanna on as a headband?

I have a few friends who got the magic straight perm during their trip to korea, and their hair looks amazing. I have natural curly thick hair so I think this treatment makes sense for me. Obviously I'm not making a trip to Asia for this, but does anyone know of any salons on the East Coast that does this. I live in the DC area, and have some friends in NY, so wouldn't mind the trip up there if that's where my options are. Please advise if anyone knows! Thanks!

I have had all types of hair styles. When I was younger my hair was stick staight, as I bacame older it began to curl, then it became wavy when I startd my teens. I've had perms, color treatments, one length, layers, short, long, oily and dry hair. My hair has gone through every good and bad trend possible, so if you think you've had it bad with your hair, just think about me and feel better. (Ha!) BUT dont be afraid to experiment, it's a lot of fun and you get to find out what's best for you and your own personal style.

To MLK,
Thank you for saying what I had been wanting to say to Mr."Short-haired women."
"It's a shame that you've never had the opportunity to meet women with a really gorgeous head of long hair because it sounds as if you don't know what you're missing"
Actually, sometimes it's good not to know what you're missing. I see women with beautiful long hair all the time, yet I can't treat myself to antyhing more than a two-second glance for fear of looking suspicious. I kind of envy girls, who are able to touch other girl's hair without being thought of suspiciously.
BTW, what hairstyle do you have and prefer? Do you spend a lot of time on it? You probably do, judging from the way you told off those who don't.

I really used to hate my hair. It was always very thick. Somewhat hard to brush through. In recent times, I've received many compliments at how gloriously voluminous my hair is. You know what? I've changed my mind. I'm now very proud of my hair. Yay for thick hair!
I'm thick and proud of it

To all the asian women with black thick hair...dont dye it blonde or red...stay the beautiful way you are...you are all blessed with natural beauty and all us women are beautiful in our own way....!
I am a natural golden blonde, very long hair and very fair, with green eyes I am of Dutch descent. We all have our own beauty....stay the way you are.
You are all beautiful..and real beauty is inside your heart and soul..not your hair...and your men need to look inside your heart....not your hair...! Love yourselfs and good luck to all of you.....Ciao

i am a girl with hair to the bottom of my breasts. Some people love it while some want me to cut it. I don't care what people think anymore because back then i cut my hair because some people thought i should. After i cut my hair, some of those people thought i looked better before. Now i do what i think look best and happy with because everyone has different opinions. But a lot of guys told me they like my hair and i hear a lot that guys like long hair.

I have dark brown hair that comes aa lil above the middle of my back. It is natural REALLY curly so i spend 2 or so hours blowdring and flatironing it straight. I think long or even medium long is the best, but if you dont have alot of time to spend on your hair then keep it short. Mabuhay!

To "I'd never date a woman who had or wanted long hair":
It's a shame that you've never had the opportunity to meet women with a really gorgeous head of long hair because it sounds as if you don't know what you're missing.
Seems to me that the only women you have had the opportunity to have met-- those with "...limp, stringy tendrils, looking flat and utterly lifeless", are the ones who rarely wash their hair, don't know how to style it at all, and never visit a professional salon to procure the services of a good stylist.
By the way, women with short hair who don't wash and style their tresses will also result in a head of limp, stringy, flat utterly lifeless yucky hair.

To the person who suggested women to cut off their long mane when they hit 30 - I just turned 40 and I still have hair down to mid-back and I get complements all the time from men *and* women. As a matter of fact, I have had short hair all my life up till I turned 30, when I decided to try something different. Age is a self-imposed handicap!!! And no, I am not out of it, I have a 16 year old daughter as my daily sanity checker. I may lop it off when I turn 50 or 60, but a 30 year old is still a babe!
