Eurasian girl,

I too had "long-ass hair" like you did. It was waist length in HS and college and I cut it shoulder length my last year of college. It was that typical asian girl haircut with layers. I ended up cutting it shorter into a bob. The front was longer than the back, which was cut in long layers to keep it from poofing out. I was fortunate enough to finally find a great stylist at the campus salon. I had grow it out because of the upkeep. Since the back was cut extremely short, I had to have it trimmed with clippers every 3 weeks. Plus, I graduated from college and moved to another state and I didn't have that great stylist anymore. So now I'm in that annoying in between stage and am planning to cut it short again.

my hair is really long...down to my butt and wavy, getting wavier as i get older. i used to have perfectly straight hair when i was young and the color is getting lighter too. it's very strange but i like having wavy, almost ringlety hair but i have major problems with frizz too. but i use a defrizzer and never ever brush it and it helps keep my curls in check and i get commeneted on it alot.

I had the Korean pop singer hairstyle (fluffy, layered, and medium lenght), it looked pretty cool, but it was really hard to maintain it. So now I just got it done a little shorter, combed to the side, and kinda messy, so it looks as if I just got out of bed. It's..ok but what sucks is that I have to use half a gallon of gel everyday. Anybody has any other sugestions?. I was thinking about short and spiky but I noticed that all the asian guys around here have that style and it's just way too monotonous.

anyone out there like using wigs?

I am sick of my hair and feel like cutting it all off --I mean doing the sinead buzz. I know my face doesn't suit short hair, but I have been dying it so long, the life it out of it, and I would really like to start over.

what do you all think?

HH and Curly, Just enter "thermal conditioning" in any search engine on line and it should pull up some info for you. I know there is a salon in New York that does it, and I've heard the best places to go are the Korean salons rather than the other more high priced salons taht just started doing it.
Hope this helps    Monday, February 11, 2002 at 22:26:42 (PST)
Hey Dave,
I'd say the long hair Korean style... Or just long straight hair bob style. Prefferably black. (Long is like, shoulder-length)
Well, saying all that, 'cause I absolutely love that kind of hair on guys. ^.^
Toodlez!

dave,

Ever seen Japanese hair styles? In China and Korea, alot of them copy these cool hair styles. But in america they might think it is weird you know?
Go check out Tokio, a singing group, tomoya nagasse always has nice hair. And the hair is never too short, unless the style calls for it.
If your head is long, try getting longer hair, especially the back, make it to the bottom of neck and layer it, color it brown of something with streaks. But if you dont like colouring, keep it black like takeshi kaneshiro.CAucasian hair is so outdate I think lol!

I have a bob I did myself. I slowly went from above the shoulder to chin length to graduated bob. :o) It's longer in front than in the back, and layered on the sides and tapered in the back so it doesn't look like a bush or out of shape. I have studied my stylists, watched what they did and then replicated it on myself, adding my own twist to their techniques. I have gotten only compliments on it, so I like it. I used to have ass-long hair but got bored. Now I'm adding manic panic streaks just on the ends, but put the violet-blue color all over my hair. I've done this before with a deep red and it adds subtle highlights to the natural part and brilliant, deep color to the bleached part. It's an ongoing project, my hair, but I love how it never complains!! :oP I love anything different but offbeat and cute! But beautiful, gleaming natural hair is awesome too, as long as it is taken care of!!
