WHAT YOU SAY

ABC:

Unique from other races? Honey, you DO realize that mostly ALL minorities have dark hair right? From Asian, to Middle Eastern, to Hispanic, to Black, to Native American, and even many Italian peoples and Indigineous peoples.

Uniqueness in race should come from more than just a genetic fluke.

Overall I think that hair is hair. It's there to be played with, butchered, loved, loathed, washed, dried, fried, dyed, and layed to the side. Either way it depends on the person. I've seen Asian women with shock blue hair who look awesome and some with blonde hair who look plain.

Peh.

As Sparkle said-Individualism.

It's a wonderful thing.

Personally I don't have a problem with Asian girls having blonde hair or wearing blue contact lens but I do feel uncomfortable, especially in a Western country where the most advertised form of beauty is blonde and blue eyed. It's like a form of self deceit. Especially when a lot of my Asian male friends go on and on about "Azn pride" and all their Asian girlfriends look like Pamela Stephenson. It reminds me of an article I read about mothers in California bleaching their kid's hair to hide the fact that their parents are not true blue blonde. How perverse is that?

Sparkle, right on, girl! I'm glad that you think alike as I. That's what I'm trying to say out there to some of them who want to do something like us. Of course, for those who prefer au naturel, that's fine, too! Long or short hair, thin or fat, we're all Asians and be proud of what we are no matter what color of hair or clothes we wear. We are different from other races.

Indy, I dye my hair blond. My natural hair color is raven-black so I dye it blond because I look great as a blonde.

Raselshoe, it is not frizzy or fried at all when I became blonde. It's long down my back in light gold.

Indy, your friend's indeed one of the rare ones then! :) Not often pure Asians have lighter hair or eyes unless they have Caucasian ancestors somewhere LOL.

to all the people saying that they dye their hair blond for FUN,FASHION, ENTERTAINMENT, STYLE, whatever, 1 simple question:

do blonds dye their hair black for FUN, ENTERTAINMENT, FASHION, STYLE, etc? the obvious answer is NO, they dont.

so stop frontin' y'all, no matter how you justify it, deep down that wannna-be-white desire is being manifested subconciously.

I think very few Asians can pull off looking good with blonde or yellowish colored hair. The natural hair color for Asians is black. I think some people might be able to look good with dark red streaks, but that's only for the select few. Asians have nice silky dark hair. Please don't alter that and dye it some other color. Keep it natural and beautiful! Plus, dying your hair ruins it!

I'm naturally dark-haired as I'm of Indian heritage. I dye my hair blonde. It does not mean that I'm not proud of being Asian - I am.

If I pick the wrong shade and accidentally turn my hair bright ginger, I look a mess. When I achieve the right shade - a lovely caramel blonde, bordering on light brown - I look absolutely beautiful. I'm not particularly happy with my looks, but when my hair compliments my skintone I am stunning.

I don't think you can say whether long or short hair looks better for Asian women - we all have different shaped faces and different types of hair, so how can you generalise that one haircut looks great/bad on everyone? Since when were all Asians identical?

Plus, what someone chosses to do with their own hair is none of anybody else's business in the first place. To each their own. Of course, all this is just my own opinion, but my hair is nobody else's business, and everyone else's hair has nothing to do with me - it's about personal choice and INDIVIDUALISM! Thanks! :)

I think Asian hair is a major beauty asset. I get really depressed when I've had a bad, too-short hair cut. It's ridiculous how some Asian "chicks" totally ruin their beautiful hair by dying it too often and perming it to frizz unnaturally.

beachgerl,

Wow, your hair just sounds like a friend of mine! She's fully Korean as well, but her hair is a very pale brown. Not quite golden though. She never dyes her hair either. I didn't think that there'd be anyone else like that!

I like my hair naturally dark. It signifies mystery and allure. It makes me unique from other races. I think that's very sexy for Asians.
